Axxess, at long last ....

I have to admit based on price only I will also be leaving Axxess. They do offer good service but the 5GB option doesn't sound good for the same price as the current 30GB. Let's hope IS is not full of crap.
 
I dunno, something just does not sir right with all this (besides the obvious). Taking all the info into account it would appear that the ISP's with their own backbone and int. access are giving us a once over. It is understandable why the SAIX ISP's have to up their price, but why IS? What changed for them? Sounds like another MTN/VODACOM/Cell C, play play competition thing. In short we ARE being taken for a ride, as usual. Competition is dead in SA.

You guys are full... AXXESS was one of the first ISP's to offer the cheap higher-cap accounts and now you fling insults at them? Their hands are tied - it's TELKOM you should be pissed at not the guys at AXXESS - they've been trying to figure out WTF to do to keep you unloyal buggers happy!

i feel really sorry for the guyz...i mean do you think they want to give these high prices?? They are being screwed worse than any of use here! TRUST ME!

lucky i don't have to change ISP's since they offering now offering both SAIX and IS accounts after november. might have to downgrade my cap though, but so does everyone else. prices differ between R10-20 on certain packages compared to other ISP's, and it's really not worth the effort chopping and changing ISP's every few months. besides, service has been good so far. gonna change from SAIX to IS
 
Guys Axxess are a bunch of good guys. They tried their best and they keep on trying. I mean look how many times the adsl packages have changed over the past few months.
It will change again soon.
Have faith.
Axxess Africa guys are cool. Drop them a line some time and have a chat to them. They're people just like you and me. They are also 'sugging' about the change cos most of them also had 30gig accounts...

Agreed, I will unfortunatly have to move from my current 20GB to a 10GB package for bout a 100% raise in the price, but I know that it's not axxess which are responsible.

True, all isp's which were offering 30GB account's should have made you aware that they only pay for the 3GB account. But think about it this way...
If Telkom's infrastucture could support these *abusers* for this long without knowing it, why do we need to pay per gig what we pay? I mean *if* it was really a problem(eg making on or negitive profit), Telkom would have reacted to it very quickly.

So I hope somthing happens realy quickly but, I'm not holding my breath.

When I emailed them yesterday and asked about this offer they said that the deal has been closed will not be offered to anyone anymore. so if one you get it right to still get that deal let me know, then i want to sh*t on their heads and try again

I agree with you MaD. After cooling down and looking at the problem with a bit of clarity, I will stay with Axxess. They have only given the best service I've experienced so far. It will mean that a downgrade in cap size is on the cards, but that I can thank Telkom for. What's new.
 
I would like to propose that one of the reasons Telkom has introduced a hard cap is to stop ISP's jipping 30gig out of a 3 gig account...SO perhaps axxess etc arent as innocent as they make out

Besides now they are WAY more expensive than IS resellers and by using them you are activley suppoting SAIX & Telkom
 
Telkom just saw othe rpeople making money and are now trying to get their share of the deal.
Telkom reminds me of a puppy running around with it's tonque ahnging out looking for something it can chew. It's all about them.

WTF !!! As far as I know Axxess were one of those ISP's
that were stealing from Telkom. Causing this hard cap in
the first place. You can go thank your "buddies" at axxess
for that one.

Right and you did not benifit from any of these ISP's, trying to give you and me a worth whilst service? Come on man, do you really think that is the reason for the hardcap? You've gotto be kidding me. So you don't mind paying Telkom's rediculous prices for their products then. Shame on you!
 
Just to put something into context here...buying badwidth in any other form in ZA ie serverhost or diginet lines etc will cost you at least R200/gig and thats on the huge packages...not saying it cant come down, but its not adsl bandwidth thats the problem its the cost of running a large network...ie diginet and int fibre cables...dsl is pretty good considering

And yes...telkom said that they never intended to sell a 30gig account, now we all know dsl is based on multiplexing/"sharing" and those figues bombed when 3gig turned to 30gig

Even if you did benifit, you must see the futility in pissing off the monopoly...what did you expect them to do exactly?
