Hi,
Let me just give a quick breakdown, Last month on the 9th I signed up for the Fixed CellC LTE deal, There were 3 options available
1. Sim only with first month free
2. Free B315 router (worth R1700)
3. R999 for B618 (Saving of R1500)

So I though, hey, let me be nice since I already have a router and take the Sim only, as I am on the 100GB package I though at least i will be getting 100gb free.
So when I sign up I get told I only have 75GB, I'm already irritated by this as I wanted my 100GB. In anycase I made peace with this as 75GB was still okay.
So on the 18th my sim becomes active, and low and behold, they change my 75GB to 35GB.

I enquire about this, and got the below response

Please not for any service, whether it is paid service or promotion service, we operate on a pro-rata basis. Therefore, your service bemane active on the 18th of Feb. to calculate that.
100GB / 28days = 3.7GB per day
and then
3.7per day * 10 remaining days of the month from the 18th = 35.71GB Pro-Rata data

We have said that the delivery process will take 1 up to 10 working days.

This is absolutely BS.
So Basically If you went for option 2, you got R1700 extra value. If you went with option 3, you got R1500. Me who went with option 1 got R160 of extra value.

So, If you are not signing up on the very small window between the 21 and 22nd, There is absolutely zero reason for you to go with Option 1 as its an absolute ripoff.

Sorry to hear about that, but it is standard procedure for Axxess/Afrihost to apply pro-rata data to any new order. It is to prevent people from getting a new SIM (and router) with 50Gb a few days' before month end, and they lose 45Gb's of data when the new month starts.

Best to apply data pro-rata as the data does not carry over with their other connectivity offerings, and avoid rumbling and grumbling cuss-tomers.

I believe there is an option (somewhere) where you can specify that the package start at the first of the month instead of having pro-rata data?

Anyway :

What is speed like?

And is it hardcapped?

Yeah but that's nonsense, this is a promotion for new customers. If I was paying then sure, You can give me Prorata data as long as you do the same with the bill. But how is it benefiting me if they take an absolute age delivering the sim, then only giving me 35GB instead of 100GB, whereby others are getting free routers.....

No idea if its hard capped, Speed is excellent though, getting nothing less than 35mbps. Average i would say is about 50mbps.

You are very lucky with your speed though... My connection hardly reached 10 Mbps (download)...

I doubt the routers are free. Somewhere in the T&Cs they probably stipulate that when you cancel the contract, you have the option to return the router or buy it. Most ISPs do this and people are falling for this trick.

Yes, 6 months, but still its yours after this.

Hi all; Im considering Telkom for fibre.

I heard that if you take an online, or call centre deal - then the Telkom branches can't/wont assist you?
Is this true??

:erm:

I canceled. Moving over to Mweb, Axxess "ISP of the year" my arse. Absolutely zero customer service.
