Axxess fallen over?

There's a Telkom issue affecting authentication on our network. MTN are busy working with Telkom on fixing this. If you are currently logged in you should not be affected but it looks like clients logging in are not able to actually get an IP and start a session.

Gotta love the way Telkom gets the blame when the common denominator is MTN and there seems to be no problem with other ISPs :sick:
 
Hope Axxess/AfriHost have a SLA with MTN with some serious penalties for downtime.

MTN has committed to a network of cable systems which will guarantee 99.8% availability to all the network users by using their access to the following undersea cables, which they have invested in:

According to that MTN does guarantee their network only has max 17 hours of downtime a year.
 
I'm on Axxess 50Gb capped account and have no issues at all. Perhaps this issue is isolated to uncapped accounts...?

That is my log to Axxess this morning. The guy also told me that I should phone back as he wanted to mail the development team. so I said, why not phone them, would be a tad quicker...

So he said I should phone back at 9:00. I got through and then it disconnects after a few minutes.

My issue was that my modem connects and then on Axxess side it tries to authenticate an old account I had with them, then the line drops...

Changed over to afrihost account for now with now major issues....might just move everything over to afrihost, cause their new clientzone is pretty neat...
 
Still can't authenticate.

AH and Axxess has really gone down the tubes. Lucky this is a trial account ... guess I won't be signing up.
 
Mine is back up and running as of 3min ago.

Yep, looks like the new uncapped QoS has some interesting features - thanks for testing DJ...
So it is not Telkoms fault. This means you just caught out Afrihost in a fib.
 
Likewise, don't know if that invalidates DJ...s test now :)

I'd restarted about 20 minutes before I posted that. I changed a few router settings and it restarted itself and synced without a hitch...

OK, checking my logs I'd last tried at 15:27 and it wouldn't authenticate.

Can anyone else confirm this problem didn't impact axxess capped accounts.
 
Okay now mine is stuffed. Having to use my Mweb trial account for the time being...:(
