There's a Telkom issue affecting authentication on our network. MTN are busy working with Telkom on fixing this. If you are currently logged in you should not be affected but it looks like clients logging in are not able to actually get an IP and start a session.
Hope Axxess/AfriHost have a SLA with MTN with some serious penalties for downtime.
MTN has committed to a network of cable systems which will guarantee 99.8% availability to all the network users by using their access to the following undersea cables, which they have invested in:
I'm on Axxess 50Gb capped account and have no issues at all. Perhaps this issue is isolated to uncapped accounts...?
Try switching your modem off and on - not recommended if this is your only ISP account.

OK, checking my logs I'd last tried at 15:27 and it wouldn't authenticate.I'd restarted about 20 minutes before I posted that. I changed a few router settings and it restarted itself and synced without a hitch...
