I have just had a chat to Axxess, who adamantly say that they will NOT be affected by the 1 Nov price change. They say that they are working on things that they cannot tell me about, but it will solve the problem for them.

Is there any way that this is possible they have some work-around?

Any insight would be great!

word... how legit is this? I mean... is what they are doing legit with saix?

yah, no more need to fit in as much bf2 time as i can

ermm.. i think we should see it in working practice. the only way i can see if they do this is with IP connect.... and that would cost a lot... and impact the level of service. Unless they get a mooooooerse big pipe:P

I'm not really fazed if it's not legit with SAIX. Skrew them!!! :)

I just wanna know if it's gonna work.

I dont know.. without knowing how they are going to do it, its just a guessing game.

Are they going to resell IS ADSL? In that case, kiss your ping times good bye on the SAIX games server:P

Are they going to do IPConnect or something? *shrug* oh well.

Maybe they were saying that their 3GB account will not be affected and not the 30Gb one.

Just make sure that they understood your question.

Nope... I specifically said the 30GB account. I made sure that they knew what I meant. I even compaired it to the Web Africa special... Which they said I should go for if it was cheaper incidentally. I thought that was kinda funny. :)

Axxess is a good company IMO. I am also interested to see what they will do come 1st November though. They will have to be pretty clever for it not to affect their product range somehow.

Well that's what I was thinking.

From everything I have heard on the forums Axxess have done really good things for their clients. That doesn't really fit into lying to their prospective clients in order to get an order that will probably be cancelled come November if they go back on their word.

I'm quite hopeful.

If it is how they say it is, then they will receive a surge of clients come 1 Nov. I just hope they have the infrastructure to handle the load!

Well if Axxess are working on it, I'm sure the other "competitive" ISP's [WA; SAOL] are also trying to find a workaround.

Which benefits the consumer :)

"If" axxess are:P Im sure if they stay on the SAIX network, the pings for gaming will be fine... but I dont know if they are going to...

Ok well when I last spoke to them (a few days ago) they told me I must be wary of their price changes/ product changes come 1 Nov. So I dunno how reliable that source is.

Oh and btw there is no way around it.

Would be nice to get something in writing from Axxess. Everyone seems to have only spoken on the phone to them. I sent them a few emails yesterday enquiring about 1st November changes, but they haven't replied at all.

they told me the same thing: "we shouldn't be affected by the new prices" when I asked them yesterday, and that they were working on something but couldn't tell me more at this moment, my guess is that they will move away from SAIX....

may be there is a light at the end of the tunnel after all

pings are going to go pear shaped if they move away from saix :(

Don't care. If Axxess keep a 30gig around where it is now, I will keep that for all the normal stuff, browsing, downloading etc. I will then happily buy another SAIX gig or two and reserve that for gaming. Sure beats paying R2000 for what I currently pay R300.

Axxess is Good-- Wait and See

Hi there

We dont know for a fact what is coming. we will only when we see it in writing on a add or something similiar.

However what we do know is that Axxess has offered us all a great product and a good price with good service. I dont see how the good product and service will change, the price yes as we dont know what Telkom are up to.

Apperently Axxess are busy with negotiations at the moment. We can be sure that they are trying to secure us the best deal possible. As far as I know they have become one of the biggest suppliers of resold bandwidth giving them lots of clout, alot more than they had in the past. Telkom also need the revenvue that is supplied by Axxess customers at the moment.

I dont know the answer that we are all looking for, but based on previous dealings with Axxess I am sure that we will get a best effort from them.
