How long will those SAOL prices stand before it ups to double or whatever the case may be???
 
Let me get this straight. If I want to keep on using their services I have to email them. Well I am not. So this mean I do not have to send them anything? No cancellation no nothing?
 
Just emailed SAOL in connection with that 30 gig account and they said the special of buying 30gig for this month at R299 and then getting 30 gig at R299 next month has gone so you cant get it anymore.

Well IS here I come

HOw do u download thirty gigs a month anyway?
DO u have a shack behind your house where u store all ur harddrives??

/me moves over to Clipse where i can get two x 2 gig IS accounts meaning i will have 4 gig international and 56gig local. All this for R350 :) :)

Who uses local anyway?

My only local access is brabys, miro and uniterm. forgot mybroadband...

Lucky you - I wouldnt even be able to use 2 gb local.

Seems everyone was hoping that Axxess would come in and save the day. Back to narrow band for me.

I dont think that matters, its a matter of limited choice atm. If Jarrod wants to use 56gig locally, then its his choice.

Well at least ill know each and every local site there is :) Then there is torrents , irc and work.
I need to connect to a local server for work:) And I can connect from work and from home on the same account.

Clipse hit the nail on the head there... limited choice... well missed it slightly... the highlighted word is choice, and the real word should be no = "no choice"...

I suppose this capping is going to put people like EasyWan out of business as well as kill some company's using ADSL for inter-branch connections... hahaha Telkom have really done it this time!
 
Really sad , guess its no broadband for me or ill go with IS. Wish Axxess would get their stupid ads off this site cuz they still have all the old pricing.

ROFL, are u joking? 30 gigs is nothing - especially when u consider than you upload alot as well - most torrent sites work on the principle of uploading as much as you download.

I do atleast 60-70 gigs of traffic per month - Im really going to suffer come 1 Novemeber - guess uncapped is the only option
 
Im with killerX, i get 50-60 gig per month of the 30gig accounts and so nov 1st is hurting, already cancelled my axxess account. Waiting for options but there seem to be none.
 
I think current SA telecom affairs can be summed up as follow:

Greedy bastids, Great Potential, Limited choice, Everyone suffer

Well, our packages will work out R5-R10 more than the cheapest ISP atm. On the flipside, you get knowledgable tech support around the clock :)

Also we have discounted products in-store for all users getting their ISP access from us. More about this soon.

Its all a matter of what you want tho, if there is problems, do you feel the ISP will be able to assist you or do you feel they will respond in a short turn-around time, so that you dont get left without knowing whats going on.
