Axxess Static IP

Hi. Can anyone shed some light on why if I enable my static ip on the Axxess portal, I can't resolve any hostnames. As soon as I disable it, everthing works. I can ping and do a traceroute to 8.8.8.8 but no browsing. I've tried direct on the ONT with pppoe details and multiple dns server addresses, but it does not work.

  1. Check IP Configuration: Please verify that the static IP configuration you entered in the Axxess portal matches the correct details for your network, including subnet mask and gateway. Ensure that there are no typos or errors in the configuration.
  2. DNS Configuration: Confirm that the DNS server addresses you've entered are correct. You might try using different DNS servers to see if the issue persists. Common public DNS servers include Google's (8.8.8.8, 8.8.4.4), Cloudflare's (1.1.1.1), or OpenDNS (208.67.222.222, 208.67.220.220).
  3. Test Connectivity with IP Addresses: Since you mentioned being able to ping and traceroute to 8.8.8.8, it indicates that your basic network connectivity is working. Try accessing websites directly by entering their IP addresses in the browser to see if it's a DNS resolution issue or a broader connectivity problem.
