Hi,

I am wanting to know how exactly this threshold works? how can ppl download 800 odd Gigs in one month when if they download say 5gigs in one day (for the lowest 384k) then they have reached there threshold and they get limited! Thats pretty lame.

I have a 4Mb line and want to get the 384k uncapped express, but will that mean that after hours i get full uncapped speed with no thresholds during "off peak" periods?

Thanks

The throttling only applies during the day time. After hours and on weekends you will allways have full line speed, no matter if you have allready reached your threshold

Thats AWESOME! Just what i wanted to know! :-) Come monday, Axxess here i come! R999 is not bad at all! Only use my internets after hours anyways.

@ MonTage & steviebogos Going to be the best move you guys will make in your lifetime!!! Get ready for the Axxess experience ;)

Still the best value for money on the market for 4MB/s users.

We've been selling the EXACT same product for less for a few weeks now and it seems no one has noticed.
Is there something I should be doing or are you all too keen on Axxess and Openweb?

Why don't you just purchase some banners on this site and stop free loading. I am sure RPM or Cara would help you out in getting your banners on MyBroadband. People here support Axxess because they support this site by paying for banners and that in turn helps in keeping the site alive.

Limited day time useage... 192kbps speeds only reasonable for email and web.
Not the same as axxess they are offering 384Kbps, they got 5gig 10day threshold, Don't see anything on your site so that probably means there is not but who is going to do 10gig+ on 192 speeds...

Ok, so what's the big difference between Fibre & Sattelite? surely 4Mb is 4Mb? or is it down to the latency?

4 meg latency via satellite = slow.
4 meg latency via fibre = much faster.

Yeah pretty much latency for gamers satellite sucks when you play international and even local sometimes.

Axxess has an excellent reputation here, as well as a long history of uncapped offerings, and added services for no cost.

I guess duplicating another ISP's offer isn't good enough to take half their business :)

Give us a reason to swap, and as proven by Afrihost, we will.

Speak for yourself

1) Express accounts are just re-sold IS accounts so its purely on price
2) Axxess has a horrid support system (try ask them an intelligent question, I dare you), I have NO IDEA where they get their reputation.
3) To CrzWaco, if you going to use 5 gigs or less over 10 days then uncapped isnt for you (remember speed limits are only office hours)
4) To bullzeye.za, last I checked Afrihost didnt do an uncapped offering, dont compare apples to cabbages
5) Imagine has given a opportunity to swap, it all depends on ease of payment, purchasing and their support.

Imagine, all that you've been doing wrong is advertising, Axxess has a big name and have been doing the express for a long time, so long that people have assumed its their product.

1) I know, but their telephonic support is good ( even though they often just tell you to put it in writing and they will pass infrastructure issues on to IS )
2) I suppose it depends on time of day.
3) He allready said that he only uses it after hours, so it doesn't matter.
4) I said that afrihost proved that people will move over if given better prices and service, I never said that afrihost is better than axxess for uncapped.
5) Agreed, but people won't swap without reason.

Axxess states somewhere on their site that they use IS as a backbone.

I have two accounts, Axxess express for night time flying, and an afrihost for daytime browsing before the limiter kicks off, best of both worlds, wouldn't ya say?

I've called Axxess with technical issues and had it resolved in under 2 mins almost all the time. Also, the first time their prepaid system bugged out on me and sold me an empty 1 gig voucher, they were kind enough to send me a new one with 2 gigs. That's good customer service.

Indeed

Edit: Zolly, glad to hear that, I'm still waiting on "Is your uncapped express+ unshaped after hours" email, its been a week now. I'll phone them sometime about that.

Obviously, all options are limited to the speed of the account that you select. On the Fixed IP Uncapped ADSL accounts there are no limitations and no shaping is done on the bandwidth (with the exception of the 4Mbps account which is shaped only after a 100GB limit is reached in a month). The Dynamic DNS Uncapped ADSL accounts block P2P applications completely but are otherwise unshaped and unlimited.

Imagine, that would mean that your service is not EXACTLY the same as Axxess's, as I can use whatever P2P programs I want on that account, during the day and after hours.

@KinsZa, I do believe that it is unshaped, as I've had no issues with anything after hours.

Started mine this morning, at work the whole day so cant give any feedback , qued up 50 gigs of stuff during the weekend so lets hope its done soon, then i can que a good few hundred gigs :)

Checked my stats for the month of February - did just over 530G's and thats only downloading at night and over weekends. Pretty good value for money I'd say ;)
