Here are some preliminary findings for Axxess's uncapped 4Mbit offer:
Business hours in red, After 5:30pm in Blue 11:30pm in Green

Speedtest.net < 50km:
  • ping: 120ms+ 39ms 64-107ms
  • downstream: 1.19Mbits 2.15Mbits 1.6Mbits
  • upstream: 0.38Mbits 0.4Mbits 0.4Mbits

Pingtest.net < 50km:

  • jitter: 11-55 1-5 3-9
  • Line Quality: C A B

Oops, I realized I never tested uk/euro sites or us sites. I'll fill these in as the day progresses.

Speedtest.net New York:
  • ping: 381ms TBA TBA
  • downstream: 1.69Mbits TBA TBA
  • upstream: 0.36 TBAs TBA

Pingtest.net New York:

  • Line Quality: D TBA TBA

Speedtest.net Manchester:

  • upstream: 0.27Mbits TBAs TBA

Pingtest.net Manchester:
  • ping: 346ms TBA TBA
  • jitter: 65ms TBA TBA

Astraweb: 158KBps 210KBps 151KBps

Rapid Share (free): 8-10KBps 67-83KBps

youtube 360p 1:00 minute video: 140 seconds 110 seconds 42 seconds

Modern Warfare 2 (10 bar): 4-6 7-8 6-8

I'm getting some mixed results this late at night. Ping is jumping from 33ms to over 120ms. I'm not sure if this is related to the bad pings some of us experienced last night, or if its an indication of the service.

wow... I like how you report your speeds :p
2 things:
1) Youtube video's are 360p (not 380p :P)
2) If possible could you just give the Astraweb results for 8pm AND 9pm? Just so we can see if/what time the speeds go up. From 5:30 - 10 is a long time in terms of d/l.
Thanks

I realized I neglected speed tests to Europe and US, so I will fill those in on the original post as the day progresses.

What’s their notice period? Same as the rest that if I cancel this month I still have to pay for next month too?

Hi
We have no throttling after a certain amount of downloads. This is however a shaped service and not designed for power users that download heavy. Ports are shaped for torrents, news servers,P2P etc so just take note of this.

I'm fairly certain that if you cancel on or before the 25th of the month you don't ahve to pay for an extra month. At least the Express+ worked that way.

One thing I realise with this service, and I'm sure it counts for all these uncapped but shaped offers, is that the service level is going to be inconsistent.
For example, today's local test:

vs yesterdays local test:
767111793.png

But I guess you take the good with the bad. Eventually the service should become cheaper/better.

Service level is based on shaping at that time so yes it will be inconsistent.

These kind of things make me wonder if I should go with MWEB or Axxess??!?
