Axxess uncapped

Don't particularly like this:

* 24/7 User Policy NEW!

* 10 day Rolling Window - If you're in Top 20% of IS users for this connection speed, you will be shaped
* User Policy applies 24/7, Weekends & Public Holidays
* For the 4096kbps Account, if you're in Top 50% of IS users for this connection speed, you will be shaped
 
Connection activated, got the 384 uncapped account. Speedtest : Link
Will see how it goes, but good so far.
 
I've also just signed up for this one.

384 uncapped and unshaped looked like a good deal for R196!!

I hope it's better than MWEB and Afrihost.

YouTube is performing much better ++++

Natrualy not... I was just saying that i called them and they said youtube was one of the websites what would fall into the shaped group, just a heads up. Cant wait to hear how this works out tho.
 
I'm noticing some very nice torrent speeds all day.

In fact things are finishing much quicker than on MWEB.

Maybe I should be keeping an eye on how much I use now.
 
there was no shaping for the first two days of the month and now I've been shaped so hard I cant even load the speedtest page. its like being on afrihost which is the HIV/AIDS of isps :mad: I guess 3.4gb put me in the top whatever %

I suppose if after the first month you think you wouldn't be in the top 20/50% of users then it would be the best performing uncapped package for this price. Problem is no "power users" are going to want to move over to it because they know they'll be shaped badly, so the top 20 or 50% could be pretty low. Especially when it's just been launched.
 
I don't know what people were expecting. With bollox rules where the top 50% of 4MB users are shaped with no way of finding out if you're actually in that bracket they can do what they like.
 
I am the only one who sees a huge cap in the market for 10, 20 and 30 gig caps?

i get nearly full speed on the speedtest when I switch to webafrica, although as I understand it, IS shape http too.
 
So based on this post of mine I am ready to sign up elsewhere, I thought Axxess but this rolling cap thing looks like a disaster. Any more feedback

I was interested in the 4096 Uncapped + Unshaped

Here is why I am looking for another ISP than Afrihost.

PS: Just looking at the Axxess site and theur rolling Brainf@rts I canceled the sign up before the last and final agreement. Sounds worse than Mweb, Now must I humbly crawl to Mweb? Is tjhat the only option?

My requirements
minimum two concurrent connections.
Uncapped
Hopefully lightly shaped.

Any advise

Can you show the speedtest results consecutively at the same time of day.

I'm on 384KB and apart from a Telkom latency issue (better today), I'm seeing little evidence of shaping.
In fact torrents are finishing sooner and I can do them during the day if I want. YouTube is streaming faster as well.
 
Hope this product goes smoothly, fond of the two concurrent connections on offer. Will wait & see :)
