Axxess - Update

email

Am not receiving email has something happened regarding smtp. Standard bank say they are sending me a one time password to set up a new beneficiary. Have been trying since 16h00 and have received no mail
 
Dang... don't you people ever bother reading through threads? All the answers are there, in plain sight. (well, except for you blackguy... but I reckon that is a question for another (sub)forum!)
 
IMO, this change has been made by Axxess to maximise their profits. They are willing to lose a few clients but the vast majority of people will just keep using the service and ignore the drop in speed. Coming in after the fact and saying, ya, well, maybe we made a mistake, is just them trying to salvage a few of the lost clients. They knew full well what they were doing but chose to do it anyway.
 
This is the stuff that MBA courses will use as a case study of a business **** up.

But I have to say that I have always found my IS semi-shaped prepaid account to be a lot faster and responsive than my Do3 account. In fact the only reason I have really kept my Do3 account is for the 30GB local after the extra 2/3GB etc of international.
I've always found that streams are much smoother and i never experienced the 50kB/s line throttle that my 4meg line would sometimes have on my Do3 account.

That being said, if I had been one of those affected, I would have for sure thrown my toys out of the cot and demanded more than an internet apology. What axxess has done is quite frankly stupendous.

I now worry of course that this will have an impact on my experience of the semi-shaped. I guess this month will be the telling difference.

i'll throw a bone and say that the change's motivation was not no1 for the benefit of the clientele, but more in reason of cost cutting as it seems that the is semi unshaped are at cheaper rates vs saix normal to the isp's; benefits of semi unshaped are just by products ;)

when clients will not be seen as just mere children who can be burped by some benefit or smooth talking to be better.

i wonder if people like quovadis would be refunded for money lost by axxess's actions.


-my q is just, when the IS semi unshaped goes pear of being over used what then?, in the past IS would always flaunt their **** as the most temptacious stuff out there, but it eventually gets over used and then it's users are stuck with slow and castrated services....

I was wondering why I have been lagging in games lately.
Their saix local was unshaped if you didnt take the prepaid option, and now they are putting it on to IS?
I made sure I was getting away from IS when I went to axxess in the first place!
 
I dunno if this issue is related to the change. But for some reason i cannot access a lot of the sites i used to be able to access. I cant get into gmail, or facebook anymore.

I sometimes check sports scores etc on my phone, connecting to my wireless, i cant do that anymore.

Overall for me, in the last week, the service has dropped tremendously. Simple things dont work anymore. Anybody having similar issues?

I've received the following ticket response within 5 minutes of sending my query when I wanted my semi-shaped and my local accounts moved back to SAIX:

Hi <Voicy's real name>.

The @axxesslocal accounts and @axxess-semi accounts have not changed.
Only the basic @axxess accounts have changed networks.
So you do not have to make any changes whatsoever.

Yes I'm sarcastic. Why is mediocare support applauded when the ****up could have been avoided in the first place by them not trying to be Nazi to their clients? You know, the dumbasses who feed and clothe their children?

Pity they screwed up in the first place :sick: I'm still checking out options for a replacement ISP but it means I'm sitting with 500+ business cards with the incorrect email address... BTW, sarcasm is good
 
Has axxess changed something again? Or is there a general adsl problem at thw ynberg exchange in CT? I can't connect via adsl at all.

That's why I've had my own mail server since 99. I used to have a rocketmail.com address until they sold out to Yahoo I think. Then things went downhill from there...
 
Which other ISP's also sell airtime via Pick 'n Pay or Engen?

I will still stick with Axxess because all you'll need is a debit card or cash to buy some airtime without going online.
