Axxess - Update

I purchased a 1gig Semi. I must say, that my latency really improved with WoW. Havent even been more than 450ms the whole 2hours playing.

Which other ISP's also sell airtime via Pick 'n Pay or Engen?

I will still stick with Axxess because all you'll need is a debit card or cash to buy some airtime without going online.

I guess appealing to lazy people probably got them the headsup with their clientele? (No offense lib man)

I've been online for 14 years now (holy crap batman!)... and I've never been able NOT to connect to the internet because I was capped...

Picking up bandwidth while I shop for groceries isn't really my thing you know? "Oh **** I forgot to buy milk... but at least I have bandwidth".... like seriously wtf

And most debit cards can be used online. And with a debit order, buying something from... lets say... I don't know.... pick someone that doesn't **** up too often and too big...er.... Web Africa.... is a breeze

Hell, I even got connected with them on a Sunday morning over the phone with no credit card. How's that? a phone call? Amazing technology these days huh?

No thanks.

then again, I'm not your typical nerd that will go into computer shops when I pass just to look at hardware or games. My ex gf was amazed by this as she dated "a nerd" before and everytime they went to the mall this dude will go into one...

mmmm

anyway

My lag averages that and I'm on 3G. So?

We're not really talking bandwidth here my friend. Or what benefits has or don't have.

I can get IS semi shaped from IS/Web Africa/MWEB or any other ISP in this country. I can also get SAIX. Local only IS. Prepaid. PostPaid. Debit Order. Credit Card. Roll Over. Wireless. Bundled. Contract. Wimax. ADSL you name it.

ANY service Axxess offers is out there. At another ISP... who won't **** people around. Not tell them their plans and then not even apologize for anything. Did you see the press release? "Oh but we're saving you money and now everything is semi-shaped, you should be sucking our cocks and licking our *******s clean for this privilage"

No buddy. Sorry. That attitude from a company (Sentech rings a bell... wait... aren't Sentech closing DOWN their MyWireless now? Being the first wireless broadband company hailed for being a godsend?) gets a big FU from me.

Who else has a after hours service like Axxess 626?

I can name 4 ISP's off the top of my head.... they all advertise on MyBB as well... 626 isn't a new concept my friend

626; its a treatment to rsa's expensive broadband symptons- lol only here you will find a "new" and "inovating" services like this. Seriously just think uncapped express....

ISPs must understand that we the public are not stupid, we know we are being ripped off, we understand that all internet in south africa is slow and overpriced, and for that reason we seek brilliance in customer service, as you all have shytey deals, so fall short on customer service, and bang bang bang that was the last nail!

Axxess it doesnt matter what BULL you write on these forums your customer service is non existent!

I've been with a few ISPs and as far as customer service goes Axxess have given me good friendly service and support whenever I've phoned them.

The only time I had to wait for a reply was with a ticket a week ago, but that was quickly sorted out after I posted on this forum.

Well until this IS backbone switch debacle Axxess were my favourite ISP with which to deal, however, they have now moved right to the top of my sh*t list, along with Telkom and Eskom. They seem to be taking lessons in arrogance from the best in the country!

Seeing that Neetel is puffing itself up over some imminent cheaper bandwidth, my advice to axxess is to learn from this mistake and let your clients know beforehand when you want to switch over to neetel and their imminent cheaper bandwidth.

@ acid - no offense taken ;)

I'm just trying to get things done all at the same time when buying groceries and stuff at the end of the month.

It's a common business attitude in SA. Once you get well known and get an award you turn on your customers and **** them over. Nothing new really.

You won't hear anything from them either besides their normal corporate bs about actually doing you a favour.

Ah man was gonna go to Axxess next month because of their semi decent prices on their semi unshaped.

Is it that bad really?

Everytime Telkom stuffed up and I knew it, the Axxess guys have been willing to check just to make sure there is not issue on their side (quite a few times). As for the other times I called them, well there has been no reason to do so.

As a happy Axxess client after being a miserable iBu(r)st'er etc, I can easily overlook the one and only issue in a long time since joining up.

This was handled incorrectly, but which other ISP would admit so openly as well?

As such I guess this was a learning process for them as well which will simply allow good service to get even better.

Ah noooo. I was under the impression that Axxess' 626 service was using SAIX, because I wanted to buy a couple of pre-paid gigs of that.

Unless they can proof to me that the unshaped IS has the same low latency as unshaped SAIX, I'm not even going to bother and just stick with WA.

you sure one can now switch your voucher over to saix?, cause when i phoned monday darren told me it cannot be done??
who do i believe?

As far as I know you can only switch a voucher over to SAIX if you have a Prepaid account with Axxess.

I switched my Prepaid account to SAIX and use the normal vouchers you purchase from PnP and Engen.

EDIT: it probably has something to do with the normal voucher user name ending in "@adsl" whereas the Prepaid user name ends with "@axxess.co.za.s" (the added "s" is for SAIX)
