Sheesh, when i last checked there was 2 replies .... this has been hottly debated.

I agree with RPM on the anony .... anonimi, (F7) .... anonymity ;)

What i was trying to achieve was find out who ayanda was and use that
against Telkom as they have used it against us.... whether on a small scale or
not people reading that article will be thinking "Heh, MyADSL agrees with Telkom" . This is what i wanted dissproved.
 
telkom are dumb, we shouldn't have to resort to their tactics to win. it could turn out that ayanda was a "bought-off" journalist, paid for by telkom or something, and not a telkom employee at all. telkom would then turn around and say that if MyADSL can't respect peoples privacy, how can MyADSL's future input regarding telecomms be deemed credible. and then our foot would be in our mouths :o i say lets rather just let telkom dig their own graves, they've been doing a good job of it lately
 
We have exposed Ayanda enough. He/she will register under another name next time...:D

Hope Telscum now knows, that we are not stupid and that we are intellegent enough to see a trap before stepping in.

Regarding this statement, I think RPM posted in the Announcement section that Telkom, after the report, were trying to sway journalists to the "dark side"
 
If ayanda is a telkom PR person, let him/her speak. All the arguments she starts gets answered, so if we ever need to go to a hearing again, we will have allot of the questions 's answers well thought out and discussed here already! :D

Ayanda is asking who will pay for the DSLAM..... Well lets look internationally shall we. The DSLAM is connected to the ISP's network from what I understand of DSL technology, so I say let each party pay for his/her part in the provision of a DSL service. Telkom would rent the copper line to their client, the ISP would be responsible connecting their backbone to Telkom's DSLAM. Telkom could charge the DSLAM's cost to the ISP which may intern be charged to the client together with access to the net from the ISP.

Telkom is not concerning themselves with any ICASA/MyASDL query past the DSLAM.

Very interesting indeed.

What a thing for Ayanda to say! It appears that telkom and many of the presenters at the hearings did not base thier arguments on sound facts and technical understanding of how the network works.

ICASA is well aware of this. There is nothing wrong with their analysis and findings, based on the poor quality of the information provided to them - even if this requires more clarification. However - it is NOT in our interests if this is to happen behind closed doors, better in public.

BTW. The term "line rental" is only understood by old timers like me who know where it came from in the first place. So beware of what you think the line rental cost covers, and also what should or should not be covered by a "ADSL line rental charge"
