Ok so if all sources are correct, tonight will be the last night we have to play BF3 standard maps only :p

I can't wait for the new maps tomorrow. Anyone know when the switch over/launch will happen on the servers?

Could it be at 00:00 tonight?

Sharqi and karkand 24/7 server for the win!!!! pity the chopper is so useless it used to be awesome in bf 2
 
Im really looking forward to this as well. So over the maps we are on. Dont like the thermal vision nerf to guns though :( I wonder with Karkand if we will be able to sneak down the side like we did with bf2 (where you get in a buggy, drive up the right hand hill just as you are coming into karkand, drive over small cliff, keep close to wall, jump out touch wall if time is running out cause you are out of bounds... and sneak over the river to the back flag).

I can't wait. Servers are dying down a bit. Might be because they are over the content or maybe just on holiday already. Sure the new maps will bring in some much needed change and it will just be PURE EPICNESS !

Yeah I hope so.

I wont lie.. some of the experiences in the game suck. Like flying sucks compared to bf2. I hate not been able to get rid of that cockpit view, and for some reason my jet seems to "spin out" at like 200 meters.

This is a server setting. 3rd person view needs to be activated. If it is, you just press "c" or "v" not sure which one now. But if it's not activated back end then it doesn't work.

I want that view where its not 3rd person, still 1st person, but with no cockpit view :D The cockpit takes up so much real estate :(
 
The maps will go live today from 11am to 1pm, that's what was mentioned on BF3's Twitter, however I think from 1pm it will only be accessible seeing that they said they will deploy it between those two hours listed.

PS: I posted the local SA time and not the 1am-3am PST (that they mentioned on Twitter) :)

Whats killing it for me is the random disconnects. Really don't care anymore whether its my DSL/ISP quality, the server or the game itself - too many variables. It just makes it difficult to get into a groove.
...anyhat looking forward to the maps as well.

You hould care if it's the isp, i play almost every night and i play without incident. Afrihost peeps have a bad time that is for sure. Not sure why most of the guys struggling in our clan use afrihost. Disconnect all the time.

I have had various DC issues myself in the beginning. I blame my wireless internet though. But lately this game has been sailing perfectly. I honestly have nothing to complain about as it stands now.

You're right, I should - and I have. On Openweb btw. Then again it also can be Telkom - our exchange has a history of being canine excrement. Just getting sick of the whole rigmarole. Sorry for derailing the thread - I really enjoy playing BF3. Although I'm really not that good at the moment - haven't got into an FPS since... Quake 1... I kid you not.

As a test go buy some axxesslite bandwidth, 19 bucks a gb buy a 1gb account for now and test.
