On mine it shows the icon on the top right if you enter a chat. I have a 9300. You have to scroll to the top and then go right (or just touch it with yours most probably).

I just have a block which says EN.

Strange. Did you see the Phone Icon on the main BBM screen? I started there today and once connected the phone icon showed on the chats. Couldn't test it though

Sorted. Tried with another user and it showed up.

It works well. Pity not more of my friends are on wifi.
