So I want to reinstall windows as my computer is going slow and it is very cluttered at the moment...

I want to however, backup the information I have eg. iTunes library/information/playlists/play counts etc. I also need to keep all my emails and email accounts set up and my internet connections all in order with my bookmarks and installed passwords etc etc etc, as it is such a drag having to set up everything all over again. Does anyone know and can help me do this as I am not too clued up on the whole backup thing (I usually just backup a few programs on a seperate drive and just format my hardrive and then start from scratch).

Now that u have an iPhone, you should get a Mac as well.
Then you don't need to worry about this again.
U just use Time machine, and an external drive.

You don't know how much I want a mac!!!!!

That would be like a dream come true... Problem is I don't have $$$.

I do have an MSI Wind though, which I'm going to install osx on.

Sorry I'm not here to answer your question but to say Get a Mac - TimeMachine (along with the rest of OSX) is awesome and to say that when I still had a PC I never managed to transfer my play counts from iTunes when I was doing a fresh install, hope you come right.

Libz gave me a name of a program clonezilla. You should download it and clone/image snapshot of your drive.THere are many programs on the net for free to do this, and if you a noob there are wizards.

That's the problem with Windows. It gets unstable and there is only one certain way of getting it back. Clobber the lot!

Ya that's what I'm thinking I may have to do... Pity, cause it's such a drag to reinstall/put back everything.... :(

ANyone want to start a Pooky Mac Fund?

I tried the partition thing using Acronis.
It works but you will always be out of date with things like Antivirus, addons etc. It uses some space on your drive as a dedicated partition and it gives you a choice at bootup to revert to the previous state.
