Backup solution for when there is fibre outage

Resurrecting this thread given the new MTN Pi offerings.

I see as an introductory offer, when you sign up you can get a ZTE G5TS for R499, and get 200Gb for R399, which rolls over for 12 months - (up to 25mbps). Source: https://techcentral.co.za/mtn-lobs-a-grenade-into-sas-mobile-market-with-pi-launch/279573/

Seems okay for a backup solution. Any thoughts?

Fixed wiresless and mobile data topups don't roll over as per their terms. Only the monthly mobile data does.

Im using a Rain One for backup on the fibre because one thing i found, if my fibre goes down my IOT devices go for a ball of soup lol.

Looks like there are decent sim only options. I guess i have to find a good LTE router - the MTN offer was good because they offered an LTE router for R499 without a contract.

If there any good deals on LTE routers please post
