i signed up with afrihost for the first time, got a message "your sim card could not be provisioned" asked for help from afrihost via e-mail and the reply i got from steven at afrihost was a stupid automated reply which reads "Thank you for your valued email.
This serves to confirm that your data has been provisioned.
Have a great day.

really?? i know my data has been provisioned as you took the money that i paid for it!! problem is the simcard that im supposed to use to utilise that very same data is not working, therefore, i cannot use the very data you provisioned to me CMON!!! take your customers seriously, you could at least look into it or something, not a good way to start a relationship with a new customer

as promised in my replying e-mail, first - mybroadband and then - hellopeter. i'll be a pest until you either refund my money or give me proper service:mad:

Is it your own sim or sim they supplied ? Getting similar results. Got the sim hour or so ago. Not getting connected with full h+ signal on 3 devices with a sim they supplied.

sim is an mtn one which is suppose to be provisioned with apn settings

I got mine this morning, it is labelled as LTE. I tested it on all devices I had at my disposal (BlackBerry Z10, Galaxy S4, Galaxy Tab and also on my PC using 3G dongle). When I called them they told me that the sim card was provisioned and that I need to have an LTE device.

I never signed up for an LTE sim card but I got a DM on twitter from Afrihost that the sim card is backward compatible. Something is just not right here.

Pure Internet Joy My....:(

Sorry to hear that you are having such a bad experience. We definitely take you seriously and we're fully prepared to refund you if we can't provide you with a service.

Reading through your post, it seems like you signed up for APN. Are you sure that your MTN number is eligible (i.e. not a prepaid SIM). Drop me a PM, let's get to the bottom of this ASAP so you can either get your data or your money back :(

The SIM card label "LTE" means that it is a LTE capable SIM, but LTE is not provisioned by default. 3G and 2G are standard and will be supported. I'm not sure how you're testing this or what results you're getting - drop me a PM and we can do some troubleshooting to see what the issue is :(

@AfriMan on this topic now - do you actually need an LTE sim card to be able to access LTE services or can the original dispatched sim card *mobile two/mobile three* be provisioned to make use of LTE even though the sim card doesn't display LTE anywhere.

Thank you, now thats what i was looking for, i will PM you immediately

No, a SIM must be LTE capable (128k) in order to be provisioned. The original 8,000 SIMS (a few thereafter) were not LTE capable. We'll have a feature eventually for you to check in ClientZone whether your issued SIM is LTE capable, and you should be able to request a SIM swop to get an LTE replacement at R197 (I'll confirm that cost closer to the time as well).

Thank you Afrihost. I used my first 10GB without one single problem. Got my e mail to warn me about used data. Good service. Keep it up! Thanks!

Same here, also receive communication via SMS but that is delayed by a day once I consumed all my data with percentage.

I agree. I do not see anything wrong with customer support.

There has to be a dedicated department for Afrihost Mobile queries(someone who is able to deal with them directly), noticed when lodging a support ticket there is no option to choose Afrihost mobile I send all my communication to ADSL queries etc, even on their live support(Afrihost mobile webhost) their isn't a department.
