Bad Driving thread

Happens to me almost daily. They speed up and overtake only to stop in front of me a few metres later, blocking traffic, to pick up a passenger.

The moment I see a taxi driver try this, I speed up, hell no!! I will not let a taxi driver bully me like that and come to a dead stop in front of me offloading passengers.

Almost daily I see them coming up the left side on the yellow line, I do want to move and block them but just now they run up your ass at speed or pull out a gun.

The Light Was Red, And Black, And White

Bad Behavior, Bigotry, Car, Non-Dialogue, Rotterdam, The Netherlands | Legal | January 14, 2019

In the Netherlands, we have intersections without traffic lights or traffic signs regulating the right of way. On these intersections, the rule is that the driver coming from your right-hand side has priority.

I’m a white male. I have been a driving instructor for ten years, so I think it’s safe to say that I do know a bit about traffic rules and traffic laws. I nearly get into an accident because a car coming from the left-hand side almost hits my car. The driver manages to stop with screaming tires.

A black, young woman immediately gets out of the car and starts swearing and cursing. I tell her that she needs to calm herself because she is in the wrong for not giving me right of way.

This may have not been the wisest thing to say, because she becomes more irate and starts yelling louder, calling me a racist, and screaming that I am discriminating against her.

That makes me laugh, so she calls the police.

Long story short: the police come and are mildly amused by her discrimination charges, but less amused when it turns out that she has let her insurance road tax and annual car check lapse and she is driving with a suspended license. And thus, the police officers become racists and are discriminating against her.

At least, that’s what she screams as they take her to the police station.

This idiot stopped in the middle of the William Nicol interchange this morning. We were at the line, this thing was the third guy that stopped in front of us in line.

I sent a post to their facebook account but it's monitored.

I said that the driver deserves an award. Award attached.

William Nicol intersection, this place is hell every morning, every afternoon, I hate it so much.

Maybe not bad driving but this dicks went up bird street in morning traffic blocking more than half the lane and wasting a lot of time in peak traffic.

I hate when I am on my commute and I come up to bunches like those. Definitely do not want to be associated with them. Thankfully they skip traffic lights so they tend to move away from me.

I might just also start biking from next week on, from Jamestown across town to where I stay. Just scraping the guts together still. I'm am not very fit and it looks like a long way.

How far and what is the elevation?

Those using the N1 out of town also annoy me. Stop cycling on the highway, there is a dedicated cycle lane with a less than 1km detour.

That's a bit further than I thought. I have a few questions but I'll pm you tomorrow. Just waiting for my friend to finish up with his bike and then we start.

11km on a bike is a doddle. Unless it's all uphill. Then you are probably going to get off your bike and walk. Good luck though. Riding on a bike in traffic needs big gonads.

It's really not that far, and it's tarmac all the way. VI ride very relaxed that is why it takes 30mins, however I did race there on my road bike just for once and got close to 20mins. There is a bit of climb at De Zalze right before the turn-off to Jamestown, but I take it easy so I arrive at work without breaking a sweat.

In the afternoons I go offroad to some of the MTB trails, manage to do 25km with 600+m climb.
