Bad Driving thread

Honestly, it was somehow registered as a 2005 model even though clearly it was a early 90's model with a badly fitted new dash and a old motor with some maak n plan efi system on it and about 7 wheel nuts all round, in my defence I didn't see it before purchasing it, my brother in law bought it for me, in its defence I did manage to outrun a metro police bakkie so it wasn't too bad

I always wanted a golf, always as all my friend had one, then one day I got probably the worst one in SA, I hate them now, still love being able to outrun them, if ever you feel like a win just go drive around any area where there are coloureds they are always up for a dice.

Nah bru, I had the worst one!

Witnessed a brake check go wrong last night.
Audi guy overtook on the left and proceeded to brake checking an old-timer in his Dutsun, which didn't end well for Mr Audi. I felt so sorry for the old man, had stopped to help out the old man, he was really shocked and scared.
The Audi guy was so angry screaming that the old man was driving slow in the right lane.
A little patience really goes a long way sometimes.
From what I saw the old man was overtaking a taxi but I guess he didn't speed up enough to do it quickly. Mr Audi just proceeded to lose it

eish, imo old people shouldn't be allowed to drive :p

that said, if the audi was able to do it then the other car could have moved over, i am not saying the audi guy was right, but fsck me sometimes you can relate.

Had a fukkengrett near schittenselfsen this morning.

Tulip road after R511 - toddled down this road at a good speed, then encountered a BMW driving slower and slower.

Spied a tractor up ahead, and no oncoming traffic, then decided to floor it and pass two pootling drivers in one go. BMW was NOT indicating that he/she/it was planning to overtake the tractor anyway.

BUT!

As we passed the BMW, the driver tried to overtake the tractor as well... I just kept on straight as I would make an accident on a narrow road should I try to :
- move to the right
- brake and avoid an accident.

BMW must have kakked his pants as he pulled back into his lane.

When we looked back, he was all over the road after passing the tractor. Driver clearly not paying attention to the road and driving...

Let us hear!

I had a red city. (the red yellow blue manouvre) . Cut the firewall out to fit reversed sidrafts on a 1800 sub... wind went right throught he car, It was horrible. cold balls everywhere. Nobody would ever drive with me.

My first Golf was the blue Citi. It was this Golf with a 1300 that I upgraded to a 1600.

Nice little cars. Pity they don't make them anymore.

Bwahahaha  I got a hand me down Red/Black '92 CitiGolf Sport with 1800 engine from my mom which I used for a few years before it went to my brother who wrote it off. I also owned a '93 CitiGolf Caddy with ABF on ITB's that I used as a track toy for a while before moving it on. I still have my 1982 Golf GLS with 1.5 engine that I take out for a drive every now and then.

I built 8 of them in the end. Usually fixed up and drove for a month or 2 and sold. I did like them. I dont think ide be okay driving one now though.

i actually through frankenstein workshopping, got a audi 1800 turbo 24 valve motor into a golf. with box and brakes and few other bits. was fast but deadly as hell. I had stiffened it up and done racing suspension and sways and so on but bad chassis to make power.

24v motor?

I disagree that it is a bad chassis, there are plenty used in Germany's Berg Cup series which make and handle a fair amount of power...
