Bad Driving thread

I usually don't feel the need to rant in these types of threads, but I just have to get this off my chest today: why, in the name of all that is good and right, do people on the N2, especially between the airport and Somerset West, feel the need to drive 70km/h in the otherwise empty right-hand lane when the left-hand lane is doing the same speed?

I was stuck behind a new Golf with its rear fog lights on (for no reason) this morning for about 10km and when I put my right-hand indicator on, in what I thought was the politest possible way of telling him I want to pass, I got the middle finger. I see this type of behaviour every single day in Cape Town, but in Gauteng most road users would practically run these people off the road.

Fog lights are the pits. But there has been numerous threads about them already.

I have to say that Stellenbosch drivers are extremely polite and courteous towards me when on my bike. They are about average when I take the car.

There are more and more people like this..

I even see it on the N3 leaving Durbs every day. People sit in the "fast" lane at 80km/h because the lane to their right is empty and they REFUSE to move over... they ignore the fact that the right most lane is a Bus Lane and technically cars are not allowed in that lane and can incur a R1500 fine. Even had some guy in a fscked up old bakkie swearing at me and pulling zap signs a few weeks ago because I ended up hooting at him when he ignored me flashing my lights at him.

So what's in the left lane?

Never understood yhose, and tailgaters cant stand them!!!!!

Dont you know i will delibratly brake to piss you off if you tailgate me.....
Dont care if you drive a bmw or a taxi,

Tailgaters I also hate... I just drive slower and slower... they get pissed off and pass me at the first opportunity.

Our little one is pretty happy in the dark in the back of the car. Do you have rear facing of death facing seats?

She is at the back. On the n2 the lighting is not adequate. And when we turn off there isn't any for a couple of kilometers.

I'm not entirely sure how my interior lights are affecting others negatively. I gauge speed by looking at lights In My rear view mirror. I fail to see how this reduces my visibility and ability to drive at night.

It affects others because you can't see what you're doing properly, and could well kill one of the others.

So what's in the left lane?

Nothing at all....

4 lane freeway, with a 5th bus lane.

Knobjockey travelling in right hand "fast" lane at 80km/h whilst speed limit is 120km/h... 3 lanes to their left are empty or have light traffic, and they refuse to move over and get agro when you try indicate for them to move over.

And greatly decrease you night visibility of what's going on outside your car?

Do you have kids? If it makes her more comfortable then I do it. When she is snoring it goes off again.

Wtf are you on about? Am I looking out for highjackers on the n2? It's the n2, if a dude can run that fast and is trying to get access to my vehicle then he deserves a lot of credit for keeping up. I'm confused as to what I need to see around my vehicle besides the headlights behind me and cars next to me.

What the actual fsuck are you talking about? How is it hindering me when I'm looking out infront of me. I can't see anything because my interior lights are on? Have any of you driven with your interior lights on. It doesn't affect how I drive. I don't lose the ability to drive with it on.
