Stuffing around with your brake pedal has the potential to cause the driver behind you to slam on their brakes and the same for everyone else behind you, this can easily result in a multi-vehicle accident with fatalities (people killed by you and your bad driving).

Unnecessarily and suddenly braking is dangerous and you are a dangerous and selfish driver for doing it.

We actually have a flash and move over. Its in the learners. Also, no keep left pass right. In SA you are allowed to pass on the left on a multilane highway. Strange but true. I much prefer the European enforcement of pass and get out of fast lane. It really helps to keep faster cars moving.

I have often had to slam on anchors for a damn truck driving in the fast lane and worst of all he cannot move over due to his size and fact that he cannot pickup enough speed!

How about this... I have a dashcam in my car... if I happen to come up behind you and you do your little brake game... and it causes an accident you would have my insurance company after you and more than likely the police as well...

You are not there to enforce the law....

I concur. I detest drivers who believe its their God given right to enforce traffic laws. It's very simple, if a car comes up at some speed behind you in the fast lane and flashes you to get out the way, just get out the ****ing way and let them carry on. it's not rocket science!
To those of you who think you're clever by brake checking other drivers; you're not. Stop it. idiots.

Not your legal judgement call to make. The liability for the accident would actually fall on you, not the person speeding necessarily. YOU would have made the situation unsafe by doing your little brake-check maneuver.

But you might be on the way to a hospital to take somebody who has been seriously injured for some life saving treatment. Instead of being able to get to the hospital as fast as you can you now have to contend with some idiot who believes he is Gods gift to traffic law enforcement. I know a lot of people speed only to speed but you don't know their situation and I hope it never happens to you where you need to get to a hospital in a hurry and some ******** is playing silly buggers in the fast lane.

Don't be a tool. Pass and move to the slower lane.

Which just worsens the situation.

As Crowley points out; you don't know why the driver approaching you at speed is speeding, it could be a life-or-death situation. You would be solely responsible for any accidents caused due to believing it's your right to enforce the traffic laws. It's not, so don't. Mighty I just hope you're never in the situation where you are in a life-of-death situation and driver decides you shouldn't be speeding and brake-checks you. It's drivers like you who cause accidents most of the time, not those speeding.

I merely meant if you come flying up my ar$e then be prepared...
I am not a complete moron if you approach me with your hazards on and I can see there is an emergency I will move over and have done so MANY a time. If you going to leave home late and drive like a d00s on the highway and expect everyone to move out of your way because you are so important then you have another thing coming. It happened again this morning some @rsehole driving up my ar$se, veering from one lane into the next and i was doing 80km/h in the slow lane with cars in front of me, so where the f^&* dear people would you have like me to have moved to?

He should just have overtaken you on the right. Did the ahole actually flash his brights at you?

Just don't brake test, the best thing to do it clean your windows with your window sprayers, leaves a nice fine mist on the window of the car behind you.
 
this mornings Darwin award goes to the motorbike passenger that was holding on to the driver with one hand and texting with the other.
