Bad Driving thread

How about the jaywalking that happens all the time? There seems to be no regard for rules on the road, people will walk across the road where they feel like it, try dodge through traffic etc when there is a perfectly good working robot not far from them sigh.
One worse than that are the people that run across the highway when there is a bridge a few hundred meters away.

Why take the safer route when you can risk instant death to get to where you want to be...

Confession time: I deserve an entry in this thread for this morning.
While standing at a red traffic light, I was watching traffic turning into the road I was entering (I was on the straight section of a T-junction).
When it was completely clear I drove off! Complete lapse of concentration & I only realised that I was driving through a red light midway through. Swore at myself and carried on :D
No one was hurt or inconvenienced, still completely idiotic by me.

25 Hail Mary's and no sex for a day, and you are forgiven my son.

;)

Well... If I had not been vigilant tonight I am sure I would have been checking myself in for a long hospital stay at best.

Sitting at the traffic lights I watched the cross lights go orange, and checked for idiots looking to run the red. I see a small car reasonably far away and think it should be ok. Cross lights go red and in that small pause before my lights go green I checked where that small car was again. The idiot was not slowing down, and my guess is went through the red about 3 seconds late, more than enough for me to have been there judging by where the car opposite to me was. The idiot stopped at the next light and when I pulled up alongside I was met with verbal abuse.

I am "slightly" angry right now.

This poor excuse for a human thinks that traffic lights are there just for show...

fsuckn chaos on the n2 last night in the midst of queing traffic after a fatal crash. the biggest failing of the DA government. wild west on the roads.

If anyone knows Lynnwood rd in Pretoria. It was really bad. One robot out. The road is gridlocked. Then you get buses and taxis climbing onto the curb with two wheels on the pedestrian walk and passing all the other cars. This is normal. Except for the taxi driving on the middleman, which is about 3-4m wide with grass and trees. You could see the suspension of the taxi taking a beating.

Welcome to the Wild wild east

Weren't you supposed to blame a political party for that? :)

Yeah. Wait. Let me pick someone to blame. I blame Henry Ford for starting the mass production of vehicles. Or civil engineers. For designing pedestrian walks. And Peter Pan. For leaving Neverland. Or Rosthford. For discovering atom nucleus. And Jan van Riebeeck. Darwin for discovering evolution. Bill Gates for Windows. For the computer scientist that decided default is a good word. I also blame Parliament for mod providing RDP firepools for everyone.

Not specifically bad driving, but dangerous conditions.

Within a distance of less than 5km on Saturday I had to test my ABS when a cow stepped into the road, swerve and brake to avoid being hit by the beer bottle a friendly fellow threw out the taxi window, and then swerve and accelerate to avoid being hit by a bed that wasn't tied onto the back of a bakkie.

I am staying away from you.....full of bad luck

Who did you piss off in a past life?

A legitimate cow - or some woman? ;)

Either which way you seem like bad luck!

Don't have a video for it unfortunately, but I was completely dumbfounded by just how fekking retarded some people can be.

I drive through the centre of Pinetown going to work this morning, and people who live in Durban will know the intersection. Its the "bridge" over Old Main Road. I was travelling up the M7, going straight through to go onto the M19.

The robot had just changed, and the retarded wench in a Merc went through a red robot on Old Main Road to get in front of us, and then just decided to stop dead ON the bridge to let her son out of the car so he could go to school. Seemed to make no difference to her or her son that there were two double cabs behind her standing on their hooters.. The son then proceeded to get his bag out of the boot as well.

2 things obviously blow my mind about this, how the actual fek can anyone think that stopping on a bridge like that is acceptable behaviour, especially in rush hour traffic, and of course WHO lets their young (less than 12 years old is my guess) child get out of a car on what is one of the busiest intersections in the area in rush hour traffic?!?!

I'm amazed at how many people now go through red lights - it's really sad that people watch others do it and believe it's alright - same as driving in the emergency lane, turning right or left from a straight lane because they don't want to wait in the line - I always want to ask them, what makes you think you're more important than the rest of us?

Very aggressive type of person, and thinks it owns the road.

Sounds like the majority of road users in South Africa.
