Bad Driving thread

@Yorkie

I was in JHB earlier on in the year and it wasn't as bad as everyone made me believe. You also have a greater police/JPMD presence up there which I guess sort of keeps people in check.

It's like the Wild West here in the EC :D

They seem to forget the rules once in KZN, on vacation, the Vaalies taking over.
Dolphin Coast on no rules after them...

Some times those double lines and no over taking signs are a plot they use on alternative routes to punish you or not taking the toll road. I recently went over Du Toits kloof pass and there were so many safe to pass spots with double white lines. Total BS.

The two roads fall within the jurisdiction of separate entities: the Huguenot Tunnel falls within SANRAL's juristiction, whereas the alternative Du Toitskloof Pass falls within the jurisdiction of the Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works. Given the general antagonism between the two entities (see: Winelands Toll Project), the probability that the non-tolling entity would "punish" road users for not using the roads maintained by the tolling entity would be between minuscule and non-existent. As such, please provide more concrete evidence than mere hearsay for your claim.

The inverse does not appear to be true through: the quality of the SANRAL-controlled sections of the N1 and N2 (i.e. from the R300 onwards) is poor compared with the WCDOT-controlled sections (N1: between Koeberg Interchange and the R300; N2: between Hospital Bend and the R300), and this appears exacerbated since SANRAL lost the Winelands Toll Road court case. There is an opinion, shared by myself, that SANRAL wants to force a fait accompli in an N1 and N2 being beyond repair and thereby forcing tolling.

I find it quite ironic when people post photos here, that they took from the drivers seat of their cars.

A colleague at work took a photo from her phone (whilst driving), and posted a picture of another guy on the phone on Facebook, bitching about people on their phones whilst driving. :wtf:

Oh the irony... :erm:

Stationary or moving? I only would take a pic while stationary and being sure that situation wont change soon

Both TBH... I've done it too in the past, both driving "safely" and waiting for a light "safely", but I've changed my ways. It's always wrong.

To the driver of the Primo Panel and Paint bakkie this morning at the Caversham Road/Underwood Road robots.

When you are sitting in the turning lane at the robot, its generally accepted that you will turn when the robot changes to Green. You are immensely lucky that I drive a lumbering 2.5ton bessie that isn't the best at acceleration since you decided that you are too special to follow the rules of the road and instead decided to drive straight through the intersection and cut me off.

White Mercedes C240 XWD935GP (old model) arriving at probably 140km/h behind on the bridge that makes the junction between R24 and N3 when you go from OR Tambo to Sandton.

Then tries to overtakes by the left (on the bridge which turns hecticly and is limited at 60) only to find that there is a car that I was overtaking and tries to pass between the two cars (so in between the two lanes).

All this to keep on speeding on the left lane and swerving constantly between trucks, to arrive probably 5 seconds before me at the Alexandra exit where he came out of the N3.

To the dude that decided to overtake, then brake check me because I was texting and driving....F YOU
