How long do they take normally (since they'll probably repaint the panel)?

1 working week depending on the damage, but in your case - maybe a day or two at most.

Didn't take the option because it wasn't that interesting financially.

And obviously, my license card expired last month and I didn't have time to renew it so I doubt I can rent a car, I'll just work from home.

Not the best choice you have ever made, We have 2 cars and on both insurance policies we have the hire car option if the car needs to be sent for repair or replacement.
Its a few rand extra but worth it.
The insurance company pay for the rental.

It was R70 per month so I judged that R840 per year for something that I almost never use was not worth it (especially since when I had it they took two days to book me a car).

So I tried this on the way to George last night, I switched on my front fogs on a dark road. Made the spread of light closer to the car a bit wider, and obviously light closer to the car, but that's it. Not really significant at an indicated 130.

Why even waste time on brake checking people??? If you're in a hurry just overtake the slow driver when it's safe and get on with your life.

Dont you drive a performance car.Why cant you just drive normally ? That will make things smooth for everybody.People that drive to slow and too fast are hazards on the road.

I saw the commotion from my kitchen, but it's to far to see what happened. I think it might have happened after I passed there already. But it took them bloody long to clear the scene so that must have been a mother of an accident.

How that could happen in peak traffic with everyone driving at a snails pace I would love to know.

Edit: that whole intersection is a f up. A few weeks ago there was 3 accidents just after each all being cleared up at the same time in morning traffic. They should really add a red light camera there as it's not even close to funny anymore with the amount of dick running the red light.
