Bad Driving thread

How good are the Lasers? I had some Night breakers a few months back, hated them and they gave up a few months later.

Why did you hate them? They're no different to standard halogens, just slightly cooler on the Kelvin scale, and slightly brighter.

I had standard Night Breakers before, but had one headlight blow after 6 months of usage, so replaced both with the Laser Night Breakers.

The Laser Night Breakers are meant to be ever so slightly cooler and brighter than the standard Night Breakers, but you'll be hard pressed to see any difference.

They look good.

Will wait for my current lights to go, then give the Lasers a shot

How to safely cross an intersection

1) Make careful note of where the stop markings are on the road and then drive over them without stopping
2) Check for any traffic in the intersecting road and proceed if:
a) The traffic is bumper to bumper in the one direction
b) The other direction is sort of clear
c) There is a vehicle with right of way turning into your road across the path you want to take and you are able to T-bone them
3) Please note the above only applies if you have your child sitting on your lap and your lights are off while there is poor visibility on the roads due to fog.

I liked Nightbreakers, but they failed 3 times faster than normal halogens. That was a bit expensive for me.

My two grumbles for today:

1. People joining a road via a slip lane: wait until the lights go red and the road is clear. When you try to get in, and people stop to let you, it messes up the flow and ends up with cars stuck in the intersection.

2. When there are two right-turning lanes, and you need to turn left at the next intersection after that, don't be dumb and choose the rightmost right-turning lane, because you'll have to push your way into the left lane after turning. Pick the correct lane to start with!

This happens all the time. Does my head in...

The sense of entitlement with some people...

and thats why i straight pipe my car , install loud hooters and have gunshots comming from the exhaust.if you drive like a numpty you get a straight pipe in your ear.If you driving at 10km/ph and hold up traffic i turn gunshots on from the exhaust. No need to swear and get raged up ;)

Black Kia Picanto driving down the N1 south. Firstly, driving over the line where the vehicle is 1/3 in the one lane and 2/3 in the other. Ended up behind it in slow traffic in Midrand. The car nearly rolled back into my car. Here I thought, how can someone be drunk driving on a Monday morning. Passed the vehicle and the person was not drunk, but putting on make-up.

^

Make-up makes them look good, women that is!! You would've been more shocked if the person didn't have make up at all.

I fitted my Figo with Nightbreaker Unlimiteds earlier in the month, replacing my 6 year old halogens.

The brighter brights are appreciated when driving on unlit highways. Dims make little difference even if it is brighter.

I think at the time of night these accidents happen the judgement of the drivers are poor. They mistake the turn off as another lane and just go straight into the island. Spar can make a pretty cool youtube video if they put up a camera in that direction.

On the topic of that time of day driving, Saturday at about 4:30am a Bantam drove into a truck at Vlottenburg and caught fire... few guesses as to how that happened.
