Bad Driving thread

Anyone ever parked up in your driveway after the drive from work and you suddenly realize you weren't paying attention to the trip and you wonder "how did I get here?". :X3:

So I've realised I look in my rear-view mirrors too much. Sometimes I'll be looking at something behind me and only after a few seconds realise I wasn't paying attention to what's going on in front of me. Or I was and didn't notice it, I don't know. But pretty certain the only reason I've avoided a bunch of accidents is because traffic continues as normal.

Cut through the middle of two lanes to overtake and then go into the lane through red. This was definitely not a case of going through red at the last moment.

An article by the American motoring publication, Car & Driver, detailing driver etiquette rules that should always be followed - however, there's not much chance of many of these being adhered to here in SA, judging by the way most morons 'attempt to drive' on our highways.

Everyone who's out there sharing American roadways has their own list of things that other drivers do that annoy them, but there are a lot that we think everyone can agree on.

After stumbling upon Town & Country's list of social etiquette rules, it occurred to us: "Hey, why isn't there a list of etiquette rules for driving?"

So we made our own. We polled our colleagues here at the Car and Driver editorial offices, reached out to our followers on Instagram, and came up with our top 40 rules for driving etiquette.

Held up a taxi this morning who decided to overtake me by going around in the turning lane, sped up so he can't come past, slowed down when he tried to get in behind me until he nearly hit oncoming traffic then I let him in, screw him, die fokken hond.

this is when you need to be on a bike, and you **** his mirror off as you go by

On that topic, and I don't commend it either, do you punch it from front to back, or do you thump it from the top down?

I can imagine a punch (front to back) will not cause much damage, but one from the top down will cause a lot of damage, probably ripping and breaking out the studs in the door metal as well...

I wonder as well, as most fold forward and back, breaking the glass though is easy regardless.

On some vehicles it is a real pain replacing the glass, you have to purchase the entire unit.

On others, replacing the glass is a viable option.

I learned this all to well on my Corsa, the mirror + mechanism is a waste of time to buy as they tend to be kind of kaka quality, just get a whole pre assembled unit and replace the whole thing, also make sure you do the seals properly otherwise you end up with the worlds most annoying whistling noise from the gap.

Wait!!! I've seen someone do this, gently folded the mirror inside, and he drove off. I guess better than smashing it.

i did this to a proper knob once, i saw him look at me in the mirror before moving over to block me, rode up alongside him, folder his mirror in, put my handlebars past it, folder it out, blew him a kiss and drove off into the sunset.
