Bad Driving thread

Not a bad price either.

Pity it's got a sticker and not a suction cup.

Think I'll wait till January and take a look again, as I want to get two dashcams.
I was looking at a few video reviews, the Mount is a standard so can get a replacement for it.
Also a few guys noted the Japanese model had a suction cup bit rest of the world 3m sticker

I have been looking at getting a dashcam as well, driving around Jhb is a nightmare especially during peak traffic times, I called two taxi drivers and one private driver pxxs' this morning for driving down the wrong side of the road.

Just don't call the Taxi drivers A$$holes apparently that's a problem

So last night, sat at the intersection of Durban Road and the N1 onramp, Paarl direction (Cape Town).
The light was red for us, with approx 20 or so cars behind myself and the two cars on either side of me, we were in front.

The light was taking forever to change. And I mean, forever, like, 5mins, 10mins, maybe.

So of course cars start running the red light, as there's clearly something wrong with the lights. And when there's something wrong with the lights, of course you have the right to break the law and endanger those around you.

Me being me, not one to jump a red light with my family in the car, waited patiently.

I got hooted at to run the light, shouted at, flipped off, etc. But I refused. AITA?
When I was visiting the USA (Orlando) I noticed the traffic lights there were set to stay on much longer for each direction, as in maybe 5 minutes. But it works, they are all synchronised, and traffic actually flows because the lights don't keep changing.

What also helps in the USA is that you are allowed to turn right against a red light (n our case it would be left) if the oncoming traffic allows.

The video was shot whilst the truck was travelling the N2 southbound, near the cement factory in Durban, close to Chatsworth. The gentlemen in the video are commentating the actions that are seen.
A truck carrying facet boards was being held down by a man who looked as if he was flying. As the truck picks up speed, the wind overpowers the load and sends the boards flying off, whilst tossing the man to the side of the truck.
The gentlemen recording the video were lucky not to be hit by the boards when they pulled over into the emergency lane.

He shouldn't be taking videos with his cell.

Last night on the M2 West Joburg in heavy traffic, this Vivo driver put the gear into R, pressed the accelerator and started reversing. He was coming towards me and I had to hoot furiously until he stopped. He looked quite young so might be a learner driver, who knows.

How could you not be aware that you are reversing instead of going forward?
