One reason why I will never get a retread tyre, it is just not worth the risk. Better to pay that extra few RRR's more and get a new tyre, and know that you're good to go.

IIRC they don't manufacture retreads (for light vehicles) anymore due to the high risk.

I was on the bicycle and it came past behind a tow truck, so no pics of the softbody, but it really was a softbody, gone up to the front wheels.

Who would we assume is at fault?

From the little I can see it would appear the soft body didn't yield.

That's a 100 zone around a blind corner. This happens there a lot.

That would be the taxi not seeing the softbody and coming from the Stellenbosch side towards Klapmuts as the taxi was turning on the R44 to head to Stellenbosch.
