Bad ping Local/International.

I'm in dire need of help. Any help, I'm super despondent (Moedeloos xD)!

My gaming randomly started lagging one afternoon 2 weeks ago. I first thought it was my ISP, and after sometime without the help of them (Fu webafrica), i figured out it doesn't matter which isp/router/pc i use. Tested my game ping on 3 different PC's, 2 different routers with 4 different ISP's. The results are the same.

This is my latest test that I've done. I really hope there is someone here that can notice something or help me in someway.

I did a Gw2 server ping test whilst playing:

Ping statistics for 206.127.146.107:
Packets: Sent = 188, Received = 184, Lost = 4 (2% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 185ms, Maximum = 197ms, Average = 187ms

The ingame ping told me i had an avg of 358ms. (The last 2 years it was always between 190-220)

I then went and did winMTR test while playing:

Lagged in both games - unplayable lag. Rubberbanding around.
Dota2 updated @ avg of 400 kb/s which is normal.
Anything else I download is going at normal speeds.
This affects only my gaming. It's now been like this for 2weeks.

Experiencing 14% packet loss to google.co.za >.<"

Any help would be appreciated - I have a month off coz I'm inbetween jobs. I was planning on spending a good amount of time gaming. So far I'm screwed >.<"

Stats look fine to me, so possibly bad exchange.

Run a this round 11PM - ideally on a school night:

Ping mybroadband.co.za -n 100

and repeat Saturday at like 8PM. If the exchange is screwed then it should show significantly different readings

I'll do the tests on Saturday again, although I would hope for a sooner solution ^^

Looks like 2 problems. You should be getting packet loss on that.

Well those are the classic congested vs uncongested times. Doesn't have to be those specific ones.

Don't think this is going away anytime soon though. :/

Not sure why the MTR readings are all over the place while the ping is stable though...

Thanks for the help so far though - Would asking telkom to change my port to a different one on the exchange, make a difference?

Try another ISP for a while which is not IS based. Best bet for line testing is to ping a Telkom IP (such as 196.43.1.14) via a Telkom account

Downloads/ YT is fine-ish, but my latency is horrible

I've been having this exact same problem! Download speeds are fine but packet loss makes gaming impossible, as well as a higher than usual international latency!

Same issue here, phoned telkom to have a look at our exchange. Apparently the card I'm connected to at the exchange's bandwith is at 90% in use. They offered to move me to a different card that has more bandwith available and now my ADSL is not working at all. Not syncing nothing, 5 days later and they still haven't fixed it.
