HAD TV FOR 3 MONTHS - RETURNED DAMAGED UNECONOMICAL TO REPAIR !
My mom has a service contract with Early Bird Services Richards Bay. She requested that they repair her Diamond DTV-29NC, in September 2010. 2 MONTHS later after numerous phone calls and promises that the required spares have been ordered and have arrived we were informed that they now require the remote control to program the TV.
1 month later, Dec 2010, more phone calls and promises we were told they would deliver. Nothing happened, more phone calls, more visits to their shop , more promises. Nothing! Eventually they said they would deliver the 'REPAIRED' TV to us. Waited another 2 days , they eventually delivered on 20/12/2010. I and the Early Bird technician then attempted to tune in the TV , was not able to get picture. Called the manager to come and tune it in, he too was unable to tune in the TV. After assuring us it had 'worked' in his shop.
He left promising to return shortly with 'spares' to fix it. Waited a few hours, no response. We then took the TV to a 2nd party and requested a quote for the repairs. They reported that the TV was so badly damaged after the attempted repair that it would cost > R 1000.00 to fix. We contacted their HQ , put on hold ,no answer!

Any advice ?? I have logged a complaint with Hellowpeter , still awaiting a responce.
