Dropping Benni was a no brainer and had nothing to do with race. This is the best possible side that could be selected based on form.

Dropping Benni is just typical. What did you guys expect? Now we have no target man.... So we can play ala Brazil
 
I don't know any of the players as I don't follow soccer however, good luck to each and every single one of them - it's their moment(s) to shine and I hope they take advantage of every moment!

very true, he played 45min in the friendly before yesterdays and never touched the ball. he scored a handfull of goals this season and was a benchboy at a team that just escaped relegation

but its consistent with how soccer goes in this country..only people in gauteng can play soccer..

if no-one passes u the ball u cant touch it can u? benni had club problems this season..and yes a bit out of shape..but i say again...form is temporary..class is permanent...PROVEN goalscorers are hard to come by at that level..

dont got the time and inclination to explain...if you have been following the going ons a while then its obvious...but i will say that if u are in the cape you better be very special to play in the bafana team. usually you have to go to gauteng to play for one of the big teams if you want to play for bafana...but ja enjoy the soccer and all that...i will be...daine klate won the premiership player of the year he didnt even make it into the provisional squad...he is now moving to orlando pirates look out for him in bafans team next year...teko modise has done nothing for 2 season at pirates but yet he is in the team..please dont talk about form...he has had none all season...

It's an interesting point, and one that might be worthwhile discussing. But is not about race AFAICS, and you're only going to get people's backs up by bringing race into it.

but it is an issue...but ja its all about nation building..but i will miss benni the boep...i cant believe he came here looking like that..
 
Looks a great team to me.

Got a feeling we will get through the group stage, not as strong as i first thought, we can take them i reckon.

It's the single most awesome thing in sports entertainment. The huge black crowd "booooooo(th)'ing" when the white guy gets the ball. It literally echoes throughout! :D
 
I must say I had doubts about Bafana's performance. I used to think they'd never survive the first round. However, after their match against Guatemala I'm changing my view.
If they continue to play like this they'll survive the first round.
I remember their match against Iceland last year... terrible. Glad to see some improvement.
