Banking Confession

Hence the reason I do not mind if they asked for DNA when opening an account... I have nothing to hide and therefore am happy to provide whatever is needed to weed out the criminals.

That could be considered as an unintentional benefit yes, but it was not implemented for that reason in the beginning, i doubt if blu's farmworker is going to transfer billions into osama's account. But you are right, it does serve a purpose.

Yes, I agree with people abusing authority but I have, on numerous occasions, been witness to clients going off at tellers when they are merely following the rules and orders handed down to them by their employers, who are the actual ones to pay their salaries. Bending the rules is what gets financial institutions into problems....

Exactly. It's like customers yelling and complaining to the employees about the shops prices. The employee feels like an idiot, but he/she cannot do anything about it.

We never seem to step back and see it from the other point of view (and yes I may be guilty too). The teller does not know Blu, in fact neither do we really, and he does not know Blu's worker. In fact he does not even know he is a worker. He could just as easily be a criminal or a terrorist, or someone who has been paid by said criminal/terrorist, to open an account for them to launder money through.

Picture this:

An ATM on a desolate stretch of road in the desert, a man with a long beard approaching stealthily ..................... :D

Yes, but:D.. I had the same problem and got very pissed off after 10min of hearing sorry we can’t/won’t help you, if a teller cannot satisfy a client’s needs they should escalate the problem to a supervisor, I got my stuff sorted 5 min after talking to a personal banker, but I first had to tell the teller that I would then want all my accounts closed, and I’ll take the money cash thank you.

Agreed. You cannot have rules for some and different rules for others. Detect a definite bias again in this thread for the 'have-nots'.

I have to agree, a lot of junior staff seems to be very badly trained and they end up with a 'no can do' attitude.

My boss used to tell me that he is not interested in my problems and that I should only discuss a problem with him if I have a suggested solution.

Well just before resigning you can say: " I suggest you go fusk yourself, here is my problem..."
