Banking Fraud

Hi,

I have just received one of those ubiquitous "Emergency, please send money" messages from a colleague's hacked WhatsApp. I have the details of the ABSA bank account and account holder name that the scammer gave as the destination account. Have reported the details to ABSA.

Has anyone ever had a response when you have passed these details on to the bank? Surely the account should be blocked if it is being used in a scam?

I doubt ABSA will do anything, and if they do, you'll not know about it.
