Do you guys remember a few years back how much punishment Telkom took because of the fact that no one could access their Internet Banking when capped?

Funnily enough, this seems to be normal to Vodacom & MTN customers?

What's up with that?

Would it not be logical to allow people to access these services when no data is available, due to the fact that you can topup your airtime/data when required?

Sure, WIG is an option, but this doesn't always work as well, especially with some of my accounts.

?

I recall v3g saying it was on a list somewhere. Banking sites, plus v4me was the suggestions if memory serves.

Seeing that we still use cap when accessing Vodacom's own sites then this is no surprise.
But it is a good point, when will we be able to access certain sites out of data-bundle & exactly which sites?

Downloads from Vodacom have been zero rated for a while now, but yes normal traffic to the rest of their site still counts.

Fair comment.

When are Vodacom going to introduce a system where you can purchase airtime from your phone?
Three years ago, Vodafone Australia had a system where you could register your credit card on their equivalent of vodacom4me, thereafter you could buy airtime by sending an SMS with a PIN code. They weren't big on USSD over there.

Never ;)

How much banking can one do? There is generally not much left on the 2nd of the month :(

Besides all that data is local traffic, so you don't even have to factor in international costs.

We all know that Vodacom is selling bandwidth at a very very small tiny markup, so giving away bandwidth for internet banking will probably result in major job losses, irate shareholders, etc...

How difficult is it to establish how much bandwidth is required to do the transaction on the banking site and the conversion on V4me? Then add 15% for whatever else might be required. I trust this will not result in a cut in your salary!

I`ll forward your query to the NEPSI guys.

Feedback GINGGS

Got word from the NEPSI`s that they are currently working on said project no time frame giving as to when we will go live .
No development on V4ME in the new future will be on the new portal.

There are people in S.A that only use the internet for banking? That's very strange to hear.

I've even taught a 70 year old lady how to use a computer and she wanted to Skype, Surf Shopping sites and even do Facebook as soon as she realised the potential.

Sorry Vodacom, but that's a pathetic response.
