Banting Recipes

So I know there are banting threads, but I can't find any recipe threads with substance, so I am going to be that guy and start a new thread with the hopes of getting a nice arsenal.

I have started banting, but the recipes in the book is... well excessive. I am not someone with hours a day to cook. There has to be normal working class banting recipes that will take the same time it takes to make a quick pasta or something.

What are your Normal Person, Easy, Quick, Affordable Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner Banting Recipies?

PS. Can we try to just do recipes and not argumentative posts and conversations, etc?

Banting is a myth. All of that fat can not be good for your heart... besides, where are you going to get energy from if you cut off carbs?

This is not a conversion thread or to debate the science. Just recipes please. If it's not for you, just move along.

He was obviously just winding you up..

For me banting is popping down to the Coco Bistro, ordering off their banting menu & skipping cake.
Or Sandwich Baron banting menu for lunch during the week.

Trolls will be trolls...

That said... check facebook for some banting recipe groups, there are tons with some really awesome options. 2 years doing it now and making food is second nature. We know what to add and what not to add, its actually quite easy.

Not sure if anyone needs this, but a white sauce is one of the first things to go with banting. So I made my own one and it is a winner at home. You will need one block cream cheese (if you make your own, then approx. 250 grms). A nice stick / cut of butter, a little milk or cream, and salt/pepper for seasoning. (personally I add a bit of garlic salt) personal preference. So in a little pot, drop your butter and a little milk, say half a cup of milk / cream in the pot. Starting bringing to the boil. When its warm add your cream cheese (best to cut into smaller pieces). Then start stirring. It will start melting and turn lumpy. Just keep stirring. It softens into a smooth "white sauce". Add your seasoning and turn off the pot. If it seems runny, then you may have added a little too much milk. You can thicken it up by adding in some more cream cheese. I also use this as a base for cheese sauce, mushroom sauce etc. Add a bit of blue cheese for a steak sauce. Have lots of other practical day to day replacements I will add. Enjoy.

Hi guys

This is my guilty pleasure without the guilt.

Banana flapjacks

2 eggs
1 big banana - preferably green to yellow - i dont like ripe bananas.
1 teaspoon baking powder
a tablespoon or 2 of flour(can be left out - I use it to thicken the batter if the banana was smallish)

Eggs and banana in a bowl, handblend until smooth, add baking powder and flour ,blend until smooth.

I also only use coconut oil.

Sweet, delish and good for you with no toppings. No sugar, no salt, no lactose.I often use this recipe minus the flour as a protein shake.
