Big upgrades for million-user Bash online fashion app in South Africa

The Foschini Group's (TFG's) online fashion store and shopping app Bash has seen significant user growth in the first nine months since its launch.

The team behind the Bash app has told MyBroadband the app has "surpassed expectations", including growing to over 1 million monthly active app users.

Maybe I’m in with the wrong crowd or to old for this appeal to but I don’t hear people talking about this online store in normal convo.
Never heard of it.
Sounds like another Shein. Polluting the world with fast fashion.

Tried it. Once.

Ordered several things. Had literally several deliveries. Seven deliveries. Was nuts. Completely ****ed my week up, as I had to stay in for a delivery every day for 2 weeks. Never again.

Returns are also a pain, can't just take to the store, need to arrange a delivery guy to come, collect etc.
Different methods for each package, depending on what part of the store you bought from.

I will never order from there again, completely ****ed if you ask me.

Sizing also iffy. Ordered 34 waist, the sizes varied from fit, to way too small, to baggy.
That, with the delivery non collation, and collection issues makes it a hard no for me.

I used them this year 4 times, 3 times during Black Friday week. Mistakenly ordered a double jeans during black Friday and returning was easy. Only used Home, Markhams and RelayJeans. Anything else I used the store. The size you got to go fit in store sadly. Deliveries I got 8 packages but lucky delivered over 2 deliveries. Overall am happy with Bash, before it was TFG online.

This enables customers and employees to scan product barcodes in-store using the Bash mobile app, giving them access to the locations of the full assortment of colours and sizes available in the group — both in our stores and online.
Isn't it traditional to change adjectives slightly to blur the fact that one is copy&pasting from the corporate media statement?

This sounds like quite an ambitious project with lots of moving parts - hope they can get it working smoothly, it looks a bit like The Future I was promised. (Can't stop thinking about Tom Cruise with Mr Yakamoto's eyes, though)

The extreme clumsiness and inconvenience mentioned above might have been a "teething-trouble" from the early days? Hope so. I find it quite disruptive, hanging around waiting for "a" delivery, never mind several in a week.

What would you call it?
Since I am doing it for free: Trash

Because that whats "Bash" sounds like. It was definitely an echo chamber when they were brainstorming names. No one had the balls to tell the boss, it is a kak name.

one of the main challenges I have with TFG is that the sizing of their garments differs from one brand to the other, particularly for for the stores that aren't traditionally male clothing stores but have gotten into selling mens wear. I like Relay jeans but ja the split deliveries are an issue so prefer to just get it in store. The app and website has improved a lot since it launched - it was a complete dog show for quite a while, which I didnt expect.
