Basic CCTV system for the house

@lived666, we did not know what this stuff went for, just went to china mall, figured R5000 is a good price and just went ahead.

its ok, we happy

Did you connect yours to a network and do all the alert settings? I havent got that far, just set up the cameras, made sure they all work and still recovering from the wiring, that was a lot of work.

I purchased one of these basic kits a couple of months ago, and they work ok, I got the 8 camera kit for R2k, if you want I can send you the info of the dude that sells them, he is quite decent and backs up his products.

I haven't finished setting it up, I tend to procrastinate.

The image is ok, neither here nor there, always possible to get better cameras, at night the LED are quite weak but I have the cameras near spot lights but if I didn't they would be useless at night.

The DVR does come with motion sensor, sending alerts and all that, but as soon as it got to the various technical aspects I fell asleep, but it has various features, you can show the pictures split screen, or slide show, set times when and how to record. Having 8 sets of wires ending up at the TV was a bit of a mission, a lot of cable around the house...I should actually finish setting this up.

Hi lived666,

Can you please send me more info on your setup you have done and the contact details for the person who is selling it.

Much appreciated.

PM with his info sent.
Not sure what info you want re the setup, I got the 8 camera kit and extra cable, the furthest from my house is around 60 odd meters, anyone in cabling would have nightmares re my cabling, but meh, it works:wtf:.

I havent put in the hard drive yet but i did have it setup just to test and it recorded ok, but i needed the drive elsewhere.

Basically I just wanted it to check certain areas where they were cutting fences - they have stopped as soon as the cameras went up, that is why I have been a tad slow in finishing the setup, plus the network and all that is probably going to be a bit of a challenge, but will get there as soon as I buy another hdd.

the Aurora range of Kview products Esquire and TVR sell are fantasic! use them at home and at work, automatically links to your phone via a QR code, and no need to set up ddns , literally plug and play ( watch)

+1

Installed a Kview from ESQUIRE - 8CH +8Cameras at home and am happy as can be. Quality is good and the box had everything in it that was needed. I would definitely buy again.
