Basic Online IT Course for absolute beginners that dont know anything about IT.

Hi All,
(Not sure where to ask/post this)
Is there a basic online IT course that you would recommend for someone that has never done any IT work and is not at all familiar with a computer.
Entry level course that is easy to do and explains the basics very well, that can be done at the user's pace, must be an online course.

You can probably find these for free on YouTube.

Search for 'computer basics', 'computing fundamentals', 'intro to computers', etc...

I'd recommend the A-Level from Cambridge as an intro in computing from the software and hardware perspective.

IT is a very broad topic.
It would be more helpful if you explained what your trying to achieve.
is it hardware, software or simply to use a computer?

Udemy, Coursera, Khan Academy, etc are the best places to start because they are cheap.
Youtube is great but unstructured though...but free.

Hi Bchip

It is for someone that doesnt know a lot about computers , to learn to operate a desktop/laptop , the components, how to add a gmail account in Outlook, send an email, how to browse the internet, how to basically get to know computers for home use and get educated in a bit of self-help, like a printer install , a photo email from a cellphone and how to print photos after rotating/editing them in Paintbrush etc. and files that were emailed in the wrong printer page size etc.

Basically a broad start-up course that you would recommend for your grandma that got her first computer, but there is nobody to show them . . . . the person can manage to open up a website for an online course or open Youtube videos to follow a playlist.

The course doesnt have to be free . . it should start really basic and progress into a bit more advanced over a few months etc.

I will have a look at the Udemy, Coursera, Khan Academy etc.
