Hey guys, so I am in the process of looking at putting a PC together from scratch (first time, only ever disassembled and reassembled old PCs before) and was hoping I could get a few pointers about the parts I have so far put together. Looking at building a rig at no more than R5500 (max budget)
Basically what I use the PC for:
-Gaming, very light gaming: NFS World, Rift, TF2, and the likes. Not really looking for 60FPS but would like to maintain 30FPS throughout gameplay (also Graphics card is not a necessity atm)
-University Work, the odd assignment and research.
-Streaming from PC to Xbox (Videos and Music)
So this is what I've come up with so far, looking at Intel because I've only ever used it, but I am open to using AMD.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
CPU: Intel i3 4160 3,6GHz R1482
MB: Asus H81M-K R700
RAM: Corsair ValueSelect 4GB DDR3 1600MHz R510
HDD: Western Digital Caviar Blue 1TB R780
PSU: Corsair VS 450W R500 . Is this PSU too powerful? I have seen a Thermaltake Lite Power 450w PSU for about R300
Case: CoolerMaster Elite 344 Mini Tower Micro-ATX R450
Optional: LG DVD Drive R180
MS Windows 8.1 64 bit R1130
Only items being carried over are: mouse, keyboard and LCD Screen
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Currently this build sits at R5700-ish but with that Thermaltake PSU it will come down by about R150, so closer to R5500 budget.
Also just a few Qs:
-Is the motherboard/PSU too advanced for this build and would it be better to go for a lower spec one?
-Will the PSU fit in the case? (how would you know if it does? or does not?)
Hope you guys can help, Thanks for all your help in advance
