I will be starting a new job as a PC technician. its an internet cafe with close to 150 computers. I will be trained how to repair. My goal will be to keep all computers working. I wont be doing networking just repair. My question is , what problems must i anticipate and what are the solutions. The computers are P4 and the OS is XP. i would like to be ahead of others. please advice. Thanks in advance

With PC repair there is only one way to skin the cat.
Eliminate if its hardware / software.
Hardware ?? - Replace faulty component - profit!

Software, now thats another thing to traverse, you will need to diagnose outdated software, virii etc - and that has so many approaches its not funny.

oh, fyi - XP and P4 is hardly 'ahead of others' :D

Power supply issues (especially after power failures)
Memory issues (especially after power failures)
Hard drive errors (MBR corruptions)
Virus' infections (this includes malware, spyware etc)

Get yourself a DVD / CD of Hiren's boot CD/DVD or ultimate boot CD and always test the hard ware before ripping stuff out.
If the PC doesn't come on, unplug the power cable, leave it for a few minutes, plug it back in and test again - if after that PC is still dead, replace PSU.

Learn how to use Ghost/Clone utilities!

Things get interesting! :)
