Battery replacement for r201 vodafone router

The battery of my vodafone r201 router is slowly packing up. Can someone advise me where to look for a Huawei battery HB7A1H. Even though I bought the router on contract through Vodacom, they say they cannot help me, because the battery is no longer under warranty and they don't stock the specific model battery. I am becoming desperate; we live in a very rural area of the country and are completely dependent on out Vodacom mobile connection. ADSL does not work in our neck of the woods and a satellite connection is too costly. PLEASE HELP someone!

Hello, did you come right with this?

I have the same R201 router and the battery is completely finished.
I can get from overseas, would you be interested?

May take time to come though, can you wait 2 months?

Forgot to mention. You could also change over to a wifi access point with 3G usb modem. Something like in this photo. Saves worrying about the battery again in future.

I had a similar problem with an older Samsung phone where the availability of an Original Battery became a problem. Resolved by booking it in at a Vodacare with R280 later with a BRAND NEW GENUINE SAMSUNG battery. These routers are in fact re-branded Huawei devices. Stay away from generics.

I checked with Huawei HQ as well they don't have any replacements as its end of life products
