Ive been playing it since wednesday. Got a pre-ordered collectors edition.
Just a few things ive noticed so far:
- The graphics are pretty impressive
- The gameplay seems a bit too fast. ie: battle's are quite fast due to units dying very quickly.
- There's seems to be a bit of a power balance issue. ie: some units are way too weak and some are way too strong. But I think I read somewhere that this is going to be fixed with the next patch.
- Maybe its just because I havent quite gotten use to the controls and everything yet, but it seems like sometimes certain things dont respond like they should. For example one of Gloins special powers can knock away a whole bunch of enemies. I cant seem to figure out if you must right click/left click on the enemy once you've selected the power because it doesnt always work. Ill click and nothing happens, then ill try again a few seconds later and it works. weird!
My first impression was that I far prefered BFME1 but now that ive finished the first 5 good levels and will start the 6th later tonight it seems to be getting better. Maybe just have to get use to it and dont expect it to be the same as BFME1.
But anyway, the real reason I bought this was to play online so ill wait to seee what that is like. Just want to finish the good and evil campaigns first. Oh and by the way, im playing with medium difficulty for the good campaign and ill admit that I play RTS games a lot so I generally get quite good at them. But medium difficulty is really really easy. Ill definitly play the evil campaign on the hardest level. Maybe something to do if you're half decent at RTS games.
