Battle.net Mobile Authenticator

guys I just went to http://mobile.blizzard.com/

They have all the phones listed there you can even select Vodacom MTN or Cellc and it will get send to your phone

They even have my LG KU990 listed there

What happens if you change phones do can you register a second authenticator

They should bring out one that works on your PC so you load it on Windows and you get the new code just before you play instead of having to bring you cell phone with you all the time

If I buy the Authenticator key can I buy 2 of them and register both so I can login with Both of them.

What's the procedure to recover if you loose the Authenticator?

My N82 is not supported. So I used a hack to get the App on to the phone. It starts up but I can never finish the initiation phase so in the end it doesn't work.

I guess that is why it is not listed on the site to start off with /sighness

Also, I am damn sure a blizzard employee with access to their DB sells the accounts usernames/password to hackers to just rob you of all your items. I say this because I actually got hacked, and I know for a fact there is no keyloggers/trojans ect on my pc, because its only used for games, no browsing/email whatever, I do that on my laptop on Linux.

And that is why we have to resort to authenticators with random ticks which are synced to your account so that you don't get hacked when your account details are leaked by non-trusted staff.

Yeah a friend of Mine got hacked and he also did not have anything on his machine and he had decent antivirus

It must be the employees giving away that info

They sold all the stuff from the 2 accounts he registered on battle net and it took him a week to get it back again

So I have installed this authenticator now I have to have my cell phone with me all the time to play

Extremely important information:

ONE AUTHENTICATOR PER ACCOUNT!
YOU CANNOT HAVE 2 AUTHENTICATORS FOR ONE ACCOUNT!

... you can use one authenticator for multiple accounts, but not the other way.
If you want a "new one" for whatever reason, first unbind the old one, then bind the new one.

If you lose the authenticator, you will need to contact Blizzard, and go through the motions of proving you're the rightful account holder and owner (address, full name, secret question, cd keys, etc) - Once confirmed they will give you the option to remove the lost authenticator or send you a new one (at a price of course)

Mobile authenticator just another Blizzard way to steal money from you

I went to http://mobile.blizzard.com/ and bought an authenticator key for my Samsung i607 (listed on their site). I then received the sms, went to the link and received a message:-
"Sorry but your phone is not supported by our platform"

I went back to http://mobile.blizzard.com/ and bought another authenticator key for a spare Nokia I had lying around and then when I went to the link I was told that I could not have two authenticators for the same account.

I have now paid for 2 authenticators and still do not have one!!!

So now I just wait a week for my account to be hacked again and fight with Blizzard to get it back (without everything been returned). AGAIN!!!!

WTF???

Yes and that is why you can buy one from wantitall, unless Tom242 who believes it to be a ripoff can tell us where to get it for cheaper.

Personally I can tell you, while it may look like a ripoff, will save you hours battling getting your items back.

WOW Core Hound Authenticator is EUR 6,99, but they will not ship to SA...

Problem with the Wantitall one is that it is branded StarCraft.

I know it works exactly the same as it is a BattleNet authenticator...

It is just that I am a WOW player Not an SC player!!!

But, is it worth having my account hacked over and over again???

The authenticator is not specific to WoW. It's for your Battle.net account, so my assumption is that once your battle.net account has an authenticator on it, you will need it for all the games on that account, once it is implemented in the new games.

Oh and the branding is just cosmetic. My authenticator has SC2 branding on and I rock my Shaman.

I dunno. Let's see.

6,99 x 10.98 = R76.75

Ok let's add shipping which while free for those countries probably cost in the area of R150-200 to SA. Then add the fact that WantItAll also somehow needs to make money out of this ordeal, then their price makes sense.

The problem is, they are a middleman, and they really should be cut out. The problem is not WantItAll, the problem is Blizzard not shipping to SA. They are the reason the middle man exist in the first place.

I tried it on my i600 BlackJack (thought I'd give it a shot). Didn't work. I made some effort to get an authenticator from overseas, never regretted it once. If you can at all make it happen, do so, it is worth it, knowing you have the actual hardware with you.
