Like the original game, this expansion comes in fast and hits hard. It's only been a couple of months since the initial release of Battlefield 2 and there is already an expansion heading toward the shelves. This one brings in the Special Forces, giving BF2 players a chance to take on the roles of elite class soldiers and run, drive, zip line, or fly through eight new maps! The new dynamic lighting will change the battlefield from day to night, making stealth tactics possible. Throw in the fact that there will be six new armies , each with their own unique weapons and tactics, ten new vehicles (including the Apache Longbow), along with twelve new weapons and you have an expansion that is sure to make a great game even better!

NEW Maps ( Double Yay ! ) :D ( played current maps to death )

SAIX is already overloaded.
Damn - I reallly hope that the 1.03 patch is a looooot more efficient on bandwidth, and that it comes out before the expansion does so that the SAIX servers can still be used to host.
Sigh.
So many questions - why oh why is this even a problem in our country ?
 
that is gonna rock i cant wait

because the bf 2 maps are gettin old now hehe

maybe thats because i play around 25 hours a week but still lovin them

i love the urban server so much
 
whats it about then?

the urban server only has 4 maps
gulf of oman
muustur city
sharqi
and strike at karkland

and those are the best no more kurba dam
 
Urban server - no way! I never knew that. Yeah, anything to get away from Kubra Dam :P

Then again, I'm just happy to find an open local server, I'll play anything!

Special Forces is looking promising. I'm not one to buy expansions, but I may have to . . .
 
They're 64 player maps, but limited to 48 players. The servers have been much more stable & less laggy since this was done.
 
man the servers rock now

doesnt reset every 20 minutes or less
no lag no warping just lag when u first get in like normal

i love what they have done just need another one which they are setting up now
