I managed to get a rather outdated geforce 4 mx from one of my friends, but the game still won't work. Once again I know this is because of my graphics but I was wondering if there isn't a way I can modify the game so that it will work, even though the graphics won't be that good.

google is your best bet... u not the only one having problems.

If your card or any other component doesnt meet the minimum requirements I think you are pretty much stuffed.

Isn't there a way to force my computer or a game to think that I have better hardware and in that way play BF2? My friend said that it is possible using something called hardware masking but I have no idea what that is or how to use it.

Mavix, either way your gameplay is going to be so crappy! An mx?
Eish...

Once I made my PC think I had an Nvidia Quattro Card or something, but don't aks me how :/ :p Think it was just a total balls up on my part.

Eish I think even the earlier geforce FX cards would struggle in BF2. A thumbsuck would tell me 5200FX is probably like the lowest of the low minimum spec playable for BF2.

Check your Direct-X version or try update/re-install it to version 9c. Also try update GFX card drivers if you have another card. :) Lastly run latest patch for BF2 which you can download from http://games.saix.net or many other places on the net...if you are willing to download it

And even that is horrible, I played one of those for about a year and its only really playable at min res. You will need a decent card if you want a decent experience.
