Battlefield 2

Multiplayer is very cool. The grappling hook / zip line also adds an interesting element to the game, along with flash bangs and tear gas.

Tear gas is a quick way to get TK's tho :p

my sf frame rate seems to be too low to actually be playable!!
kind of sucks! dunno why sf runs so much worse than bf2!

and it is all dark and gloomy,
 
yes maam, and for a little while i had geeks problem of menu taking FOREVER to load!
 
Yeah, I recommend reinstalling. Remove everything (backup your profile), then install BF2, immediately install SF, then install the 1.12 patch.

Put your profile back, and that seems to solve the issue.

Hang on - I tried that. It seems to want the 1.03 patch otherwise it bombs.
 
Worked for me and a couple of other people. Make sure you delete the Battlefield 2 folder that gets left behind after the uninstall (Not the one in your 'My Documents' folder).

The only 2 folders you need to keep in the 'My Documents\Battlefield 2' folder are 'Profiles' and if you like, 'Screenshots'.

You can delete those two if you don't mind configuring from scratch.

  • 20000 - Master Sergeant
  • 20000 + Basic Knife Combat Badge, Basic Pistol Combat Badge, Basic Assault Combat Badge, Basic Anti-tank Combat Badge, Basic Sniper Combat Badge, Basic Spec Ops Combat Badge, Basic Support Combat Badge, Basic Engineer Combat Badge, Basic Medic Combat Badge - First Sergeant
  • 50000 - Master Gunnery Sergeant

There's a couple more, but who cares, really?

But then you need to have a whole squad following you around so that they can wipe your ass, and show you which way to shoot the gun.
 
Sheesh,

You don't shoot the gun! The squaddies shoot the guns you just stand there telling everyone why you shot the gun and Why TK is legal if the guys not in your squad! . . .
 
man..... decided to reinstall.... chucked my sf and bf2 cases in my laptop bag, came to work, deleted it all, backed up my bf2 documents folder... defraged hdd.... open up bf2 cd pack, to realise i left cd 1 at HOME!!!!

I decided to go the medic route, i dunno what the gun is called but its pretty sweet.

so now I have the unlocked the support gun, sniper rifle (m95), DOA12 and the medic gun. I think theres 1 more cant remember

/me really appreciates this :p.
... and then there's the whole - should I go all the way home and fetch it .... aaaaaaaaaarg.
... and then you get home and it's not there and you find it under your car's front seat - aaaaaaaaaaaarg :p.
