Just to add. The advantage of creating a Co-Op game rather than just playing a single player game is the added options you can change. Like Bot difficulty, amount of bots etc. These aren't available in single player.
Also you can select multiple maps and play them after each other, where in single player you can only select one map and to change to a different map you'd have to disconnect and then create a new game from scratch.
If you and a couple of friends want to LAN BF2 and add bots to the game, Co-Op is the best/only option to do so.
First of all, you MUST be logged in to the account you used to purchase the game. If you purchased the game using a different account, you can change it somewhere on EA's site - tho I think there is a limit of 5 times or something.
I've found that sometimes I need to try load an EF map 3-4 times before it will let me in. I haven't tried EF since 1.3 was released tho.
Great site. I just got back from the UK & I miss my broadband & BF2
I've been looking around at internet options and I cant beleive how we are ripped off for bloody everything...It would be ok of we were getting paid more but nooooooes
Anyway, Im prolly gonna go with the Home/392 Telkom package with Cybersmarts 3GB cap (Bah! 3GB cap)
I know that obviously I wont be able to download half as much p0rn as usual but if I play CS and BF2 for a few hours each day, do you think I will hit the cap half way through the month??!
Does anyone else have this setup and does it last the month? - Although playing on local servers the accounts are .com domains if I understand correctly so Steam & BF2 accounts will be international?
The only international bit of BF2 is when your login details are checked, after that if you play on the local SGS servers the traffic is local. Steam is all international I'm afraid. 3gb should last you a month, but depends on how much you play.
Thanks Fiv. I just signed up for Adsl at home and now have to wait bloody 6-8 weeks for Telkom
Overseas it took 10 days.
Anyway, I was just curious, i hope someone can answer... I just installed the 1.3 patch. I know EA stopped the unlocks edit but is there another way round it to unlock for LAN games or are we screwed?
And, how do you host 32 player maps with bots? Are there server commands to add bots like CS? I tried reading through the readme but didnt find anything.
As it stands you do not have unlocks in local games and the bots run on 16 player maps - you can have more than 15 bots (assuming at least you want to join in).
There are some mods available that do make weapons available. There are also 3rd party maps, vehicles etc. Google may be your best friend but try totalbf2.com forums too
Hell YEAH! Can't bloody wait, I'll be on religously every night.
P.S. - I installed the weapon unlocks mod and can play single/multiplayer games with 32 & 64 players BUT...now the bots are all screwed.
At least 6 bots always go idle and dont respond to commands. So its a compromise of playing games normally with no unlocks or play with unlocks and have dizzy bots
Now we gotta wait for another patch-2-fix-patch-patch
LoL, trust me I will...Im waiting for Telkom to do the line thing so I needs to kill time in the meantime
The annoying thing is I pre-ordered and played BF2 overseas when it first came out & then 3 weeks down the line I moved to a place that didnt have digital phone line; and the landlord was a dildo and wouldnt let BT install the line...soo Ive been having withdrawls since.
