Battlefield 3 HUGE update!!!

Hey guys
Has anyone had problems downloading the battlefield 3 update. I heard it was 2 GB's but on my origin it says 3.9GB.
Last night it got to 2GB and all of a sudden it just said complete i tried to play which only led me back to download the update again.Is there anyway i can download the update manually? Has anyone successfully downloaded it? BTW im on mweb 1MB adsl connection. Thinking of moving to telkom though love the throttling option better than the shaping.

I think everyones was 3.9GB.

Also had lots of problems with Origin before, thankfully not this time.
 
After a 3.9GB update I expect a perfect game with no bugs or crashes or any bull****e!! Just hope my IS account hold up - been downloading the whole day :whistle:

Its 3.9 gigs for everyone. Took me about 12 hours on my 1mb line. An important note: once the update gets to 100%, it says 'finalising update'or something like that - I've read that launching other applications on your pc during this time can totally screw the update up, and force you to redownload the whole thing...

All I can suggest is, initiate the update, be patient, and let it do its thing. Origin is very finicky.

Goodluck. If it worse comes to worse, you can always copy the update files from someone elses PC. I've just read here http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/358576-Battlefield-3/page193 that its possible.
 
Before you guys get the pitchforks out the update is so big because the content for the expansion going live next week is included.
 
WTF!? I got up to 2.7Gb yesterday, paused last night, started again this morning to see that it resumes from 448Mb!? My ass is surely getting throttled today :mad:
 
Must say the timing for us capped guys is bad, its the beginning of the month and the holiday has not event started :(
 
I cannot believe how kak to patch is, it is suppose to fix all the problem I have had more problems now than ever before which is quite something considering how muck kak I had before. Whats going on Battlefield guys?

Odd i reckon they have sorted many things out.

Nooblight is practically gone which is all i wanted in all honesty.
 
In my opinion I think I've done alot of good things with this patch

The initial start up of my Battelfield now takes ages. Loaded up the 1player this morning and waited no less than 5 minutes before I could select a campaign.
Might need to do a refrag over the weekend. Same happens when I join my first map of a gaming session. It takes ages to load up. After that it seems fine.

Apart from that I had fun the few minutes I could play last night. My aim now seems to be pretty shyte :D Will need to work on it again.

Believe it or not, when mine did that a good old defrag halved the time loading...
