Battlefield 3

It's not about how many RPG's you pump into a target but more where you stick em into on said target...

no trust me, I have done my share of AT even back in the BF2 days, so where to hit isn't the issue.

I have TOW'd a tank in the back and then RPG'd it and I still didn't get a solid kill.

this "no 1 hk" crap they spinning is total bs. now they making weapons so useless which should in fact decimate something.
(referring now to my post about TOW'ing a jet in the cockpit standing about 1/2 tanks away from me and the guy jumps out)

and yet you get it that snipers take out pilots in choppers?????

does that even make sense????

I know I moan A LOT, yet I still find myself playing... it's because of the inconsistency as well.

Yup but shooting it head on or straight from the back seems to do more damage than the sides

Yup but a buggie should not take 3-4 rpg's regardless of where you hit.

yeah and wasn't there some information about how "special" BF3 was gonna be in the sense that, if you hit the driver, only he will die yet the passengers can still bail???

yet all we get are guys jumping out of it or switching to the gun and the things burns on until they all bail safely, driver included.

Yup i had some good games against the BOC clan last night, got knifed by eggy :D.

Anti tank is all about time and firing rockets at troops. Fastest way to learn what they can do. For me the most important thing is to get a handle on the rockets, it seems easy you aim and fire but it is far from easy to gauge how high you need to aim. Once the rocket is sorted you just need to find a gun you like, g36c or a-91 are awesome. Scar h is good as well. If you see a sniper 700m away if you are not experienced your rocket will drop well short. If you have used it plenty you will either hit the sniper, hurt the sniper or come within a ball of hitting the sniper.

Flak is a must, i think it's flak. It protects you from explosions. The gun is something only you can figure out but the a-91 is amazing, the g36c is also very good.

With the guns i run around with IRNV scope, red dot or holo sight, again this is something i can work with. I tend to steer clear of the scopes actually, i thought initially they were good but i find they take too long to snap onto your face and then you are dead by the time you locked onto your target, although the scar h with 7 x zoom is epic for rush attacking and defending. The irnv is very good for spotting snipers hiding, people hiding in buildings and to spot armour. Also it is not easy to be good at all the kits so you just need to pick a kit you like and play with it. It sounds boring but i dunno i never get sick of hunting armour. It's a bit of a shock when i play medic and i have to run away when i hear a tank rumbling down the road. There is of course nothing wrong with enjoying all the kits.

Also playing anti tank initially you will get pooned until you become comfortable with it.

Thanks bud. I think my problem is that I have gotten so used to my F2000/AEK/M416 that it's difficult starting with a weapon that doesn't have the same stability. What I have done is tried running with the UMP or PP-2000 which have yielded better results, but it just feels 'different'. Thats a good thing btw....

My only problem with RPG's is I seem to do the first 1-2 shots, running my ass off inbetween, when someone else will then fire and get the vehicle disabled :( I know I should just be happy that the vehicle is disabled, but it was mine :)

I really must try that IRNV scope. Even on my assault kits.... I see more and more peeps using it recently but I just seem to love my HOLO a little too much!

They need to fix the humvee gunner too. The oke can shoot the mounted weapon and you cannot kill him unless the humvee is destroyed. Shooting through the window at him does nothing!

There is a flashlight fix coming soon:

guys should just turn it off when they not going into battle.

T is the magic key I tell you. works on the Laser Sight as well.

Do you have to customize you're guns or does the scope, tactical lights get added automatically?

I'm struggling to kill from a semi long range without a scope attachment.

I see there is a reflex attachment you can unlock. Is this the same as in COD where you just need to aim close to the target and it automatically locks on?

nah you have to add that stuff on your own.

do you take into account bullet drop when doing semi long shots?

You need to select customize from the deploy screen. Then you select the bar which is for your type of roll, on there you will be able to select change and then "Layout" or something like that. It brings up your gun and you can add and change things there.

When you say automatically locks, would you mean in a console "auto aim" type way??
But yeah, what OTC said :) Before you click on deploy, towards the top of the screen you should see 2-3 tabs. Deploy, Squad and Customise. Customise allows you to change your weapon/gadget loadout as well as your Land/Air loadouts before you deploy.

Ran into a couple knobends last night that kept having hissy fits because they would shout "The tank is mine" and then someone else would grab it ........ who the hell plays this game trying to take ownership of everything, lol, idiots.

Not really. I wasn't aware that you have to. I'm use to playing COD so I just point and shoot :)

Ah will try that tonight.

No wonder I'm getting pwnd all the time :(

Agreed, played with one dude that kept on swearing at me because I spawned in a jet at the start of a game. Claimed he was in the jet first and I "kicked" him out. Failed at logic :wtf:

Yes.

I'm close to unlocking the EOD BOT. Is it something useful? I've rarely seen any Engi use it?

That happens when you select to spawn into the yet from the deploy screen if someone get/spawns into the jet before your time runs out you get "kicked" out of the jet
