Battlefield 3

Think I managed about 30mins of play last night rest was unplayable either due to lag, crashing or just not been able to connect to any servers... going through withdraw symptons today...

I played till 2am again this morning...

I need a good night's rest for a change :(

At about 10:30 each night I keep saying to myself "Ok, last one. After this game, DON'T let the next map load. Just quit."

It normally never works, except I've had quite a nasty sinus infection which kinda knocks me anyway :(

It sucks, as PhreeMe is saying:

I finish the round and think this is it, I'm off to bed now...
New map loads and you wanted to play this map all evening, then: Ok last map, map change and it all starts over again :D

as you say Fader, now unfortunately you have to watch them do it in-game and it never turns out positive.

Yeah, I remember playing that with bots. Was pretty good fun.

I'm more surprised that with all the options for servers, there aren't ones that, for instance, only allow people in who are ranked 1-10. Seems it would be quite simple to implement. And of course you could also have servers only for guys with a high rank, for those who don't have any patience for noobs crashing helicopters or whatever.

Actually a brilliant idea.
One should swing it by EA on the forums. I'm sure it's a very simple and small server patch which would allow setting level caps or level intervals on servers.

That is an excellent idea! Whether it can be applied in real world situations is another story however... Time will tell.
 
I've been playing since Friday, and dieing a lot. I think I have most of it sorted now, except the flying part.

Any tips on how to get this right, I usually just crash after take-off. I've tried to use a joystick for flying, but the aircraft pulls to the right (it is an logitech force feedback joy stick, and might be a bit old)

Don't know why I saw celebrate there..... I was trying to figure out if there was like some ritual that you go through to 'prepare' your joystick for BF :)

I emptied a clip of 100 rounds into a guy yesterday.

Wish I had FRAPS running at that time :cry:

Also didn't see who the guy was. I turned a corner and caught him by surprise. I let rip, he runs away from me all along the tunnel in Metro. About 1/2 the clip of 200 rounds hit him. He just kept on running and then got shot by a teamie running the opposite direction...
 
The lag was bad last night pit, let's wait for the server patch, anyone know when it will come?

Also the fking torch is not patched which makes sense as it was not in the notes unless its server side, skyrambo knows more about it. There is a list on mygaming but I cannot find it

I can second that bladdy torch!!! On Sienne (sp) Crossing (hate that map btw), I was at the entrance to one side of a tunnel, looking into said tunnel. An enemy enters from other side of the tunnel, flashlight blinds the S%&@ out of me, I spray towards the light, kill a teamie that had come up behind him and he proceeds to kill me :(
